Round 7: That's a Wrap

"That was a piece of cake," Metall Ark grins as he walks into the Data Disk room behind Rainichan.

"Sorry!" Rainichan sighs. "But I thought-"

"No, it's fine," Metall Ark nods. "I understand. Hey it was good teamwork. I stop the Mummy and you get the goods."

Rainichan shrugs her shoulders and looks at the heiroglyphs.

"I can't read these writings. But I think it's a password..." Rainichan sighs.

"Come on! We've come this far! OPEN UP!" Metall Ark shouts.

On the word "OPEN" the heiroglyphs glowed brightly and a small safe behind them opened up, revealing the data disk.

"The password was open?" Rainichan chuckled. "What a weak-"

Suddenly a flash burst across Raini and Metall Arks eyes:

"You must go to the Moon Tribe Camp, where we're planning our defense," KaleFlame said.

"There's a door on the right side of the mountain. The password to open it is OPEN," Rainichan said.

"OPEN? Didn't you think that might be a little obvious?" SoulBlazerFan asked.

"Oh, shut up," Rainichan sighed.

Rainichan rubbed her head. Metall Ark was groaning.

"What was that?" Metall Ark asked.

"I don't know... maybe a flashback..." Rainichan sighed. Her stomach began to hurt. "I don't like it here. Let's go."

"Well I know there are Data Disks in other towns. You can keep that one, I guess. But where should we go next?" Metall Ark asked.

"Well I know there are Data Disks in other towns. You can keep that one, I guess. But where should we go next?"

Metall Ark will follow Rainichan

"I dunno. There's a few places close around here. You comin' with me if I go elsewhere? Your choice." Staring at the Data Disk, Raini mulls it over for a moment, trying to think of the best choice of action.

"Euro seems best. Let's go there, see what people are saying. There's bound to be some talk about things going on if we go there. We'll just have to lay low and not stand out too much."

Off to Euro I go!

Round 8: Euro's Trash

It is morning when Raini and Metall Ark arrive at Euro. The first site they see is the gorgeous Euro Theatre that stands above all the other buildings.

Raini turns her head and sees a man stumbling around in a cloak.

"It's got to be here somewhere," he mumbles.

To her disgust, he picks up a piece of garbage and begins to smell it.

"What the heck?" She gasps.

The man stumbles down the street in the direction of the Euro Theatre.

"Ugh," she groans. "What'll we do now?"

"Hm... you find out what's going on. I'm going to go to the pub, see if there's anything that I can glean from them. Let's meet up in the middle of town later."

And with that, Raini goes to the pub to see if she can talk to anyone, or overhear anything... interesting.

Round 9: One-Way Street

You enter the magnificent Euro Theatre and see the man examining the trash bins.

"Excuse me!" You call.

The man turns and gives you a queer look. He runs up to you and begins to cry: "have you seen it?!"

"What are you talking about?" You ask, slightly startled.

"The Data Disk... I've lost it... it must be around here somewhere..." the man begins to sob. "I was once the mayor of this town.. but I was corrupted by the power of the Paling... I sought to use the power of the Paling, that protected this town... to gain power myself. And now... I have been deemed unworthy to hold the Data Disk. And it was lost... lost..." the man broke down into hysterics, crying and wailing.

This man is crazy you think.

"What is a Paling?" you ask.

"The Paling... here... read this," the man says handing you a book.

You read about the Paling, a magical object that can protect cities. The man lays down on the ground and falls asleep from exhaustion.

"Hmm... maybe I should go somewhere else," you think.

Suggested Options:
A) Go to the Pub.
B) Go to the Quest House.

You sit in the pub and order a drink. Listening around for any interesting information is boring work, but after a half hour you are rewarded. Two robed men walk in and begin talking loudly.

"They have taken out the Minimaly Paling... truly great servants of darkness," the first explains cheerfully.

"And this one?" The second asks.

"It shall wait. What of the Data Disk?" The first asks.

"It is in our grasps at Angkor Wat," the second nods.

"Angkor Wat? Was that a good idea?" The first asks, trepidatiously.

"It was his will... the Data Disk shall remain there for the time being," the second nods.

Bingo!

Suggested Options:
A) Go to Angkor Wat to find the Data Disk.
B) Continue listening at the Pub.
C) Go find the old man.
D) Go find Metall Ark.
E) Go to the Quest House.

Angkor Wat, eh...? That was perfect. Perhaps it was time to leave, but very, very quietly. Standing, Raini went to pay for her drinks, trying to keep a low profile as she did so. She'd have to find her traveling companion to go to Angkor Wat. Hopefully it would go without too many hitches...

Since Metall Ark is already on his way to find me, I figure he'll find me and so then my action will be to go to Angkor Wat. (Also, thanks for waiting for me to get back home, Jase! )

Round 10: Angkor's Away!

The desert at night is far worse than during the day. Metall Ark shivers and wraps his cloak tighter around him. Raini does the same, regretting the fact that they passed this ancient ruin on their way to Euro.

"We're gonna freeze before we get there!" Metall Ark complains.

"I doubt it," Raini nods. "Look."

And she points at the massive stone structure waiting before them.

"Oh good. Let's wait in there until morning," Metall Ark grimaces.

They climb up the massive set of stairs into the central hall.

"What do you think the odds are they set it in clear view?" Metall Ark asks.

"Probably not," Raini sighs.

There are three passages. One stairwell leading down on the left side, a small hallway on the left, and a trap door that leads down below this room.

"Two different ways that we can go. Greeeeeat." Rainichan sighed some, glancing around at the two visible ways to go. This was going to have to go fast if they were going to get not only results, but back to a warm bed!

For now, decisions, decisions. "I'll take the hall. Do you wanna split up, orAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!" As she talked and questioned Metall Ark, Raini had begun walking forward, only to fall through the trap door! Well, it looked like her decision was made.

Raini lies at the bottom of the stairs in a crumpled heap. She looks around the dark passages, desperately trying to see in front of her. She notices a torch hanging on a bracket and grabs it. As she turns around she gasps as two human-sized figures wrapped in bandages with blades where their hands and feet should be leap forward and attack!

I should take the stairs maybe I will find Raini or the Data Disk. Or should I use the Trap door No it is to dangerous I take the Stairs.

Metall Ark heads down the stairs and bumps into Raini.

"Raini?! What are you doing?" Metall Ark asks.

"Running!" Raini cries. "What about you?"

"I was... coming to look for you," Metall Ark lied.

The two turned to the path in front of them. There was the Data Disk, sitting on a stone pedestal...

"This is a little too easy," Raini observes. "Maybe we double-check and make sure we're battle ready?"
