Round 1: The Call of Destruction

His image was glorious. psychokind's eyes filled with tears as he remembered. For the first time in his life he remembered!

After 360 T.D. something had happened; none knew what. But the memories of all those on TerraEarth had simply vanished.

But today, for the first time in a year, he had remembered!

This was Arashi! The glorious master! The one who had brought him purpose and freedom from the tormentors! His only friend...

psychokind looked to his side as three others knelt before this robed glory of a being.

There was a human friend that he'd known for a few days called Jafar. As Humans went, he was tolerable, but did not have the wisdom or depth of his own glorious Half-Demon visage.

There was a shaggy looking dwarf, taken straight from the Diamond Mine named Blade. He must have been only half-dwarf as he stood a bit taller than most, but the dwarfish features- strong muscles and a short temper- were prevalent in him.

And then there was a Half-Demon woman. She was as pretty as they came, but psychokind did not desire her the way he desired to serve his master. This woman was named Arkis.

"You, my precious and faithful children, must do me a service," Arashi spoke.

"Anything, my master!" Arkis wept as she bowed closer to him.

"There exists a great power beneath the Tower of Babel. To access it, you need 12 Data Disks. The leaders of each of the major towns possesses one. I recently claimed this one from the former Mayor," Arashi said holding up a solid black disk.

"My lord!" Blade beamed with pride.

"Yes... now we must leave no trace of our actions. Each town, along with a Data Disk, has a protective Paling. It the Paling falls, the town will surely be destroyed. This Disk I award to the person here who first brings down the Paling of this town, but if you wish to go to another town and seek damages there, I will not stop you, of course," and a wicked smile flashed across his face. "I do not know where this towns Paling is, so you must ask around as it were."

"Gather the disks, or destroy the Palings. Go now, my children!"

I look at the other three. at least the female seemed to be capable of using magic. let's hope she knows her place and learned some healing spells. Jafar seems reliable. too bad we need the dwarf for front lines, I can almost smell his uncontrolled wrath, he might lose his cool fast.

"let's not waste time - you heard the master. let's get a room in the inn and then come up with a plan. better suggestion anyone?"

jafar heads to the statue to lurk unseen in the shadows for awhile, to check for any interesting ocurrences in the surrounding area.

[Blade]

Faces come and go...these are 3 new ones...though I sense potential evil in them...to the inn, the half demon suggests...no, I need a weapon...equipment...tools to kill...

"We should go to the shopping district first...we all are quite underequipped as I see. Or make a plan first and go to the merchants later, I don't care."

Let the half demon do the decisions...it's not of my interest...the urge is low now...the rain smells good...

"wise of you, dwarf. let's make a plan and go to the merchant after that."

quite reasonable, as long as he's calm. if he canalizes his anger in the right direction, we've got a quite powerful weapon here.

"so, human, what about you? coming al..." where the heck is he?

Round 2: Evil 101

"Are you coming?" Blade asks to Arkis as she sits kneeling where Arashi once stood.

"Leave her be. She is in meditation of the almighty Arashi," psychokind says.

"That rudddy human thinks to beat us at our game... come. We shall go to the inn and... have a listen to see if there is anything interesting."

Arkis waits last round.

You and psychokind head to the inn. You sit down at the pub and order a round of drinks. psychokind does not imbibe.

"So... tell me. You seem rather comfortable with me. I heard most Half-Demons didn't get on with Dwarves," You begin bruntly.

"We are allied by a bond greater than race. Service to the master is the highest bond," pyschokind explains.

"Well spoken," You nod respectfully.

You notice a small group of men conversing at a table across the way. One of them is wearing the uniform of a town guard.

"Have a look there," You point.

pyschokind shakes his head. "No need, I can hear them."

"Hear them?" You ask. "But they must be thirty feet away."

psychokind points to his head. "I can... trust me." His eyes glow dark black and he begins to speak with a voice that is not his. "Well that old git told me to make sure the Paling was alright. Something about expecting an attack in this region." His voice changes suddenly. "And are we?" It changes back to the first. "Yeah. That Paling is well hidden. Never thought I'd see the day, but the Paling was hidden in a secret tunnel beneath the Statue."

psychokind stops talking. You stare in amazement.

"My word," You chuckle. "That's a right useful trick."

psychokind nods. "Yes. Well I imagine your use will be in that brute strength of yours. How are we to move a Statue?"

You rub your muscles. "Leave that to me."

You are sitting behind a Statue, waiting for something to happen. You can sense a bit of magic within this statue, but are unable to interact with it. Besides, it seems counter-productive to make a mess of things now.

You hide in the shadows as you see two men walking towards you. Only at the last moment, when you are about to blast them into oblivion, do they stop and talk to each other beside the Statue.

"You have that shipment of Aeris Root right?" the first man in a turban asks.

"I don't like selling my best stock to the Chimera Clan. But if you pay the right price," the second man nods.

The turbaned man tosses a sack of gems on the ground in front of the second. The second man hands a small medicine bag of the illegal substance. Both men take their bags and walk off.

"Hmmm.... that man just paid 400 Gems for a String of Aeris Root..." Jafar nods, rubbing his chin. "I could always take their prize for myself."

Suggested Options
A) Follow the drug dealer (holds 400 Gems)
B) Follow the Chimera Clan (holds 1 String Aeris Root)
C) Wait here at the Statue.

You and Blade head to the inn. You sit down at the pub and Blade orders a round of drinks. You shake your head at his offer. Rather generous for a dwarf to share his ale, but still a dwarf.

Then again, you remember that he too was chosen by the Master. He must have a purpose. But what could it be?

"So... tell me. You seem rather comfortable with me. I heard most Half-Demons didn't get on with Dwarves," Blade begins bruntly.

"We are allied by a bond greater than race. Service to the master is the highest bond," You explain, trying to make him understand it.

"Well spoken," Blade nods respectfully.

Something catches your inner eye. You sense a threatening presence near you. A quick mental scan of the area reveals to you the mind of a guardsman. You read his thoughts as simply as reading a book.

Blade looks over your shoulder.

"Have a look there," He points.

You shake your head. "No need, I can hear them."

"Hear them?" Blade asks. "But they must be thirty feet away."

You point to your head. "I can... trust me." Your eyes glow dark black and you begin to speak with a voice that is not yours. "Well that old git told me to make sure the Paling was alright. Something about expecting an attack in this region." Your voice changes suddenly as you tap into his friend. "And are we?" It changes back to the first. "Yeah. That Paling is well hidden. Never thought I'd see the day, but the Paling was hidden in a secret tunnel beneath the Statue."

You stop talking. Blade stares in dumbfounded awe.

"My word," Blade chuckles. "That's a right useful trick."

You nod. "Yes. Well I imagine your use will be in that brute strength of yours. How are we to move a Statue?"

Blade rubs his muscles. "Leave that to me."

Noting which directions the two men departed, i decided to stay at the statue, mere gold and narcotics do not stir my interest. It may be more valuable to stay hidden at this perplexing statue.

"I'd say let's not waste time and make use of the night. we can both see in darkness. we can stop by the shop if you need to, and then go to the statue."
as far as I remember dwarves got "twilight sight" and half-demons "dark sight" in DnD. tell me if it's not that way in your game.

getting a weapon...let's see what they offer...
moving a statue...using my muscles...facing an apparently unmoving object...but my strengh and will will force it to cope, forcing my will untho it...oh what a pleasant evening...

Before the next round begins, you all can visit the Main Street Shop to upgrade your weapons... but only Blade needs to buy weapons. I'll start the Monday Round 3 at the Statue.

Round 3: Sticks and Stones

Arkis waits last round.

Arashi stands before Arkis. "Well, are you going to follow my orders? Or shall I return you to the netherworld from whence you came?"

If Arkis waits one more round, she will be removed from play until she requests to be rejoined.

Blade and psychokind return to the Statue and see Jafar waiting for them.

"You heard of the Paling then?" Blade asks.

"What?" Jafar asks. "No, I was merely awaiting news... This Statue is the Paling then?"

"No. But the Paling lies hidden beneath it. Blade, if you would do the honors," psychokind orders.

As Blade readies himself to push the Statue, it suddenly comes alive!

"Those who would defile the city that I guard, you must first face me!" It bellows.

Round 5: The Paling

Sorry about the delay! My network bugged out!

The Statue falls with a sickening crack, and the path beneath the city becomes apparent.

"I was hoping for a more challenging guardian," Blade grunts in annoyance.

"Well let's not look a gift kruk in the mouth then," Jafar nods. "Let's see what this Paling is."

The three men descend the stairs and emerge in a sort of labratory, with a large crystal in the center.

"The heart of the town," psychokind nods. "Shattering it shall be a simple task.."

And with that Psychokind pulls back his sleeve and raises his hand.

"Hope Shatter!" Psychokind bellows.

The Paling's light turns dark, and the crystal breaks apart into pieces.

<<Hope Shatter (Destroys Palings. No MP Cost)>>

Arashi appears before them.

"Ah my children... such good work. Psychokind, I entrust you with the first Data Disk," Arashi smiles and hands the disk to him. "Fear not, Jafar, and Blade. You shall have the chance."

"Where shall we go next?" Blade asks.

"Whereever you desire. I reccomend visiting the other cities on this continent first. Evegrow, Diamond Mine and Freejia. Destroy the Palings, and I will acquire the disks for you."
