Usually, when that happens, the newspapers or whatever are wetting themselves in excitement. They make a huge deal out of it, like something absolutely incredi-mazing will happen.
I don't remember anyone mentioning it this time.

Of course, that was only maybe a big deal in the US - here in Britain yesterday was 22/01/10. Our palindromic date for this year will be 01/11/10, the 1st of Nov. 
It's like, the news media also like to occasionally make a big thing out of Friday the 13th coming around, like they're so bloody rare; but in fact, there's between 1 and 3 Friday the 13th's *every year*...
