|
|
I think a lot of people who have ever watched Dragonball Z would agree that it tends to follow a pretty standard formula:
|---> - New evil appears.
| - Heroes go fight it.
| - Villain kicks ass.
| - One hero stays back to train/recover. Others get asses kicked in their absence.
| - Hero unlocks new power.
| - Turns the tide.
| - Briefly.
| - Villain gets stronger, kicks ass.
| - Hero gets even stronger.
| - Kills villain.
| - |
----
That's the general trend for each saga.
The villains in each saga also follow a bunch of standard conventions. Blowing up planets is a pretty common M.O. for them.
So this thread is devoted to defying convention. If you were a Dragonball Z villain, what would you do (or not do)?
My first suggestion:
- If a hero shows up to challenge me, I won't toy with him by using only 1% of my true power (slowly raising it to 10%, then 50% as he grows stronger). Instead, I'll use 100% and vapourize him with one attack.
What do you say? _________________

This is very true.
How about I won't devote four episodes to charging up a super attack when I could do a flurry of small attacks and vaporize the enemy? _________________ Current Avatar commissioned work by Seiken Arts.

"OH MY GOD FREEZA IS GOING TO BLOW UP EARTH IN FIVE MINUTES!!!! (*five episodes later...*) OH MY GOD HE FINALLY EXPLODED EARTH!!!!"
Good god.
Though, if I were a DBZ villain, I would slowly kill everyone before going after the main good guy, usually Goku. Why? Because they all end up helping Goku in the end and I don't want a bunch of interference while I make his head pop off his neck like a squeezed bottle of ketchup. _________________

@ freedan: lol yeah thats a pretty accurate description of all of them. especially cell! but u forget the part where they talk crap to each other for half an hour before fighting, and pausing mid fight several times to make faces and talk some more lol |

id make friends with the guys. and then, backstab them. that would be so much more effective than "hey, im the bad guy, i'm going to destroy the world. i'll use a part of my power and only show my true power when goku gets off his ass" _________________

oh yea i remember that stuff... they were mostly looking at each other, maybe even talking... and if they were "fighting", you mostly saw dots flying over the screen, barely hitting each other _________________

Actually, it was like eight episodes later.
And Raini, you're scaring me. _________________ "...at first it's fine and you think you have a dark side – it's exciting – and then you realise the dark side wins every time if you decide to indulge in it. That's what I thought, but I went with a lower number. XD I mean. 8 episodes for Goku to get out all of his "KAMEHAMEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" and all? COME ON.
...when don't I scare people? _________________

::Nerd time:: Actually, it was the Spirit Bomb.
Well, you had really scared me up until you spoke about ripping peoples heads off. Kinda came out of left field in a discussion about DBZ. _________________ "...at first it's fine and you think you have a dark side – it's exciting – and then you realise the dark side wins every time if you decide to indulge in it. That 8-episodes thought gives me another idea.
If the hero stands in place for a long time with his hands over his head, obviously gathering energy for a large-scale attack, I won't stand in place for 4 episodes asking "what is he doing?!", and doing that eye-twitching, mouth-open, periodic gasping thing ("eugh.... uh.... oh.... augh....").
Instead, I'll pop his head off his neck like a squeezed bottle of ketchup. _________________

I think every villain (and NOT just DBZ villains) need to just learn to shoot the fucker. Don't play around. Just get close and blast the skin clean off his face. |

I'd send a bunch of disposable villains to tire him and the other heroes out, and when they barely when and are all tired, I'll pull out my uber-guns and make their heads explode all messy, like bottles of ketchup. _________________

The show's still cool cause it doesn't suffer from moe [edit nowadays, i'd like to see some moe in that show XD.] Plus, it had some originality to it. Except the pacing was the most painful thing...
Goku: People of Earth... lend me your super pow3rz1!!!!!!!!111
Frieza: Ooooh, boy. This gives me more than enough time to blow up the world. *blows up world* Onto the next one. Good thing I can breathe in space, too.
