Because Facebook fools you that you're engaging with your friends, while you're just sitting infront of your PC. Go out and meet your friends in RL!
Of course, people from frigging Europe are hard to meet when you're from the US...:/

i have 200+ friends. i only care about a fifth of them, id wager.
basically, getting a facebook so soon after finishing school means everyone in your year (and a few others) add you for the sake of adding you.

What's so great about Facebook and other networking sites? It's not like you actually meet your friends that way....
Just wondering what the appeal is with these sites, I've never really got they're so popular myself.

I'm not a big facebook person, but I use myspace a lot. I really only use it for following bands and keeping in touch with friends I don't see a lot.

I told myself I wouldn't get a myspace and did. I told myself I wouldn't get a facebook and I think I might stick to my guns on this one. It doesn't seem to suit me whatsoever.

I told myself I wouldn't get a MySpace and I didn't.
I told myself I wouldn't get a Facebook and I didn't do that either.
I also told myself that I wouldn't get an LJ, and I haven't gotten one.

Never had a MySpace, Facebook, LJ, or any of that other social network stuff.
If someone wants to contact me that badly, I have an email address with gmail. And the only people that would want to already know it.
