W00t! Cool

I got a call on Tuesday saying that I've been accepted for a work trial placement for a job.....stacking shelves in a supermarket. Smile It's an overnight shift-work job, and it's several stops away by train, but I don't care. Smile

If I do the trial well tonight, and get given the job, I'll finally be back in work after 3 years of unemployment benefits. Very Happy

I was going to travel up north this morning to see my sister and celebrate her birthday with her (late, it was actually on the 9th anyway), but had to put it off an extra day to do the work trial. Do people think I did the right thing, or should I have turned it down and gone to my sister on schedule this morning as originally planned? Smile

I do the trial tonight (already said XD), then come back tomorrow morning, grab my bag and head right for the coach station. I'll get zero sleep tonight...but if they hire me it'll all be (mostly XD) worth it. Very Happy

Lucky. I can never seem to get jobs where I can stock shelves or do anything else like that. Getting a part-time job here is so elusive, i'm beginning to think it's impossible.

I've been working at the same stock job for almost 6 years. I hate the company, but the people almost make it worth it.

Paychecks are awesome.

Too bad all that work gets in the way.

So congrats for that, and all. Cool Guy

Congrats! And yeah, you did the right thing. It was something you needed to do, and though family comes first, there are some things you just need to do.

Ahhh....well, I did the work trial, but I've not heard back yet as to whether or not they actually wanna hire me. And I was so absolutely bloody knackered after just doing a single one-night shift, I'm not honestly sure if my physique (what physique? Laughing ) could handle doing that on a regular basis. Razz

Now, if I could find some work in the high-street betting industry like I used to have, I know I could do *that* job.... *roll eyes*
