This came up after talking with Jason on AIM, and we discussed death (and not in a morbid, goth sense of I WANT TO DIE IN A GARDEN FULL OF DEAD ROSES or something). So, I want to know how you all would prefer to die?

As for myself, if I can't die peacefully in my sleep, I want to go by way of spontaneous human combustion.

Preferably in the car at a stop light.

That way when I go KABOOM in a flash of fire and smoke and all that's left of me is a foot or hand or something (and my car doesn't catch on fire), the people next to my car can have the reaction of OH MY GOD THAT GIRL JUST COMBUSTED WHAT JUST HAPPENED.

I think that would be pretty awesome and they'd have a cool story to tell their kids at least.

But what about the rest of you?

ive had this discussion with a couple of people before.

ideally, id like to die protecting someone. preferably successfully.

more realistically, in the real world, id like to die while drugged up on morphine or the like, surrounded by friends and family. listening to metal.

also, THIS would be a handy alternative

This is a toughy, I would like it to be painless, but also remeberable eg- something that you may come accross in a histroical recount in 1000 years.

With these crietria in mind, I would like to explode in a freak jetpack accident while unvailing the first commercial use jetpack.

Not only would this be painless (or extremly fast) it would not be something forgetten.

"...in the case of Flamez, who was sadly blasted to pieces at unvailing of the JP2050, and the subsequent failure of the international community to take up Jetpacks as a viable transport method for another 100 years..."

I don't care how I die. Just as long as my death means something to someone... anyone.

Peacefully, and in my sleep. Cool Guy

The passengers in my car won't be so lucky. Very Happy

Nah, I don't really know. I'll tell you how I don't want to die, though; slowly, and suffering the whole time. No terminal illness bullshit for me. I'm not going to head for that great internet in the sky from a hospital bed.

I meant that as, say, my death saving someone elses life, or my death not being in vain. I do know there are people out there that would miss me if I were to be gone.
