Kruk Races

Rules:
1. Bet on each race to earn gems!
2. Once a race is announced you have to place your bet before the Box Closing Time.
3. Each race has Betting Regulations, Kruk Odds and a notice from the Commentator.

Betting Regulations

1. Single Bet- You can only bet on a single Kruk.
2. Box Bet- You can bet on two Kruks. If both Kruks place first and second you win double the money, but must also bet double.

Examples:

Will has 3:1 Odds. Blazer has 3:1 Odds

In a single bet of 100 Gems on Will, if he wins, you will earn 300 Gems.

In a double bet on both Will and Blazer the better must place at least 200 Gems. If they place first and second, you will win 1200 Gems.

Note: In a single bet, if your bet comes in second place, you will win your money back.

Kruk Odds

1. Kruk Odds reflect the payout and the likelihood of victory.
2. Rolls are based on a 1d100 roll. Die is recast until all four kruks have placed.

Example:

Will, Blazer and Ark have 3:1 Odds.
Turbo has 10:1 Odds.

Will will win if the die reads 1-30.
Blazer will win if the die reads 31-60.
Ark will win if the die reads 61-90.
Turbo will win if the die reads 91-100.

Commentator Notices
1. The commentators will tell you a little bit about the match and let you know who the favorite is. He will also reveal details that improve the Kruk's Odds.

Breeding
1. Desert-Bred Kruks are the best. They are bred to get people across the desert fast, before water runs out. No desert-bred kruk ever has odds lower than 3:1
2. Plains-Bred Kruks are second best. They are trained to run fast, but not so urgently. Their odds never drop below 4:1.
3. Forest-Bred Kruks are the norm. They are trained to run accurately more than swiftly. Their odds never drop below 5:1.
4. Hill-Bred Kruks are the second worst. They are trained to move safely rather than swiftly. Their odds are never higher than 5:1.
5. Snow-Bred Kruks are the absolute worst. In the dense snowy environment they are simply unable to run fast. Their odds are never higher than 6:1.

Crowd Favorite
1. The crowd favorite is prone to burst of luck. If the first roll does not make the favorite a winner, the die is cast a second time. If he is still not the winner than the original victor wins. If he does win, the original victor is second.

Well we've got a pretty even match-up today.

Blazer is a plains-bred Kruk from the Angel Village. It's rumored that this Kruk was sent down from heaven to be the steed of the High Priestess. But he's just racing today.

Will is a desert-bred Kruk from Watermia. The former owner died in a Russian Glass accident, but its still on the racing circuit under a new jockey.

Ark is a desert-bred Kruk from Euro. This Kruk has seen a lot of the world, I tell you. It's clearly the favorite in today's race, but not for the weakness of Blazer and Will.

Turbo is our last contestant and I wonder how in the world he got into this race? He's a snow-bred Kruk from North Cape and he looks like he has a cold. It'll be tough for him to win.

After a grueling summer showdown between the four racers, we've had quite an interesting turn of events!

Crowd Favorite Ark took first place, but nipping right at his heels was none other than Turbo! Unbelievable how this underdog could have pulled into the next heat!

Unfortunately it's the end of the line for Will and Blazer, but let's give them a round of applause for their honorable show today.

And a reminder to our betters, you can bet on whichever Kruk you want, even if somebody has already bet on it!

Commentators:

Today's match-up is an interesting example of how different a group of Kruks can be.

Kara is a forest-bred Kruk who seems to have a bit of a chip on her shoulder. She doesn't get along with the other Kruks in her circuit, but she doesn't run too fast either. She comes from grooming shows and decided to take her shot at racing.

Lily is a plains-bred Kruk who has a reputation for pulling out miraculous victories even in the face of much more skilled opponents. She is definitely out Crowd Favorite today!

Lance is a desert-bred Kruk who has served as a military steed. His victory record is almost 75% making him a tough opponent to beat. He owns half of the odds today.

Erik is a snow-bred Kruk from Wintergreen City who was apparently entered by some five-year old kid as a joke. Seriously does this thing have any shot of winning today?

Well folks, these results won't shock anybody.

Lance took first place, followed closely by Kara.

The Crowd Favorite Lily actually didn't do so good out there today, trailing in third.

Erik came in dead last, but that was kind of a given.

Commentators:

This match is full of some strong contenders, with no real underdog. A grueling race is sure to follow.

All of our kruks today are desert-bred and are actually bred by the same owner. He wanted to see which of them is the fastest.

Master is the most likely candidate having been bred from the nest specifically to race. The odds are good on him, I can assure you!

Leo was a beast of burden and is used to running at high speeds carrying a ton of extra weight. The loss of that weight during today's race is sure to help him out.

Lisa is breed Kruk who used to be in shows, but she can run with the best of them.

The odd-man-out and also the Crowd Favorite today is Chief, the oldest Kruk who has seen his share of those white lines back when he was a champion racer. He's got the title, but he is getting on in years... can he still run as good as he did?

And it's all over but the crying. Lisa pulls forward to take the lead and in a VERY close match, Master takes the second place. Chief wound up in dead last, unfortunately, but frankly we weren't surprised by that.
