Hello everyone, I just realized that I made an announcement to the staff but, not to the rest of the board with regards to my whereabouts.

I case you have no idea who I am, I wouldn't blame you, I'm not on nearly as much as I should be.

Right now, I am a decent way from home; where my home in in the Netherlands, I am currently in Melbourne, Australia for a little solo traveling across the lands of Australia, possibly New Zealand and who knows what after that.

I've been in Melbourne for nearly a month now, I think... yeah, just about and I'm about to head out of here, upwards and onwards along the east coast. I've enjoyed my stay in Melbourne, a pretty swanky (if I'm still allowed to use that word) place where I did some cool stuff and met some cool people. On the agenda for the near future is taking a look at the Great Ocean Road (apparently a must-see thing) and then I'll be heading north. I'm not sure where I'm heading exactly yet, my only plans is 'North'.

Of course I'll try to hit the big things like Sydney and Brisbane but, I'd like to see all the small towns in between as well. Well, not all of 'em... there are millions.

I also happen to be doing a blog/vlog combo, where I write about stuff and film the things I do. It's mostly to keep the people back home entertained but, of course everyone is welcome to take a peek and laugh at my sheer naïveté as I venture in this strange place. It can be found here: http://justlikeed.jlejd.com/adventures - I've nicknamed it The Just Like Ed Adventures.

If any of the local Australian members, or anyone who knows good stuff, have any suggestions on where I should go and see, they are also more than welcome as I have no clue and basically just pick a random direction and start walking every day, hoping to find awesome stuff.

And of course, I miss you all.

That was it for now. Stay cool, TE!

i live in adelaide (south australia, for those unaware - although im sure youd know that by now, eFlare), so nothing much happens here. i have some friends in melb, so i do go over there occasionally. other than the Crown, i dont know many places to see (im not a tourist as such, i mainly go to chill out with friends)

but yeah, as for further up north, the theme parks in queensland (gold coast) are awesome

Say hi to Turbo for me...

Well that was actually the Diamond Coast, but who cares.

I'll check that out once my computer's sound card decides to work again! Sad

No one ever comes to Adelaide... and for good reason Laughing

Enjoy your trip eflare, although sticking to the east coast means you miss the real Australia Wink

What do you get when you mix a kangaroo with an elephant?

Giant holes all over Australia.

But no, for real. What's a "drop bear"?

drop bears like a folklore tale of the outback, but more of a joke just to scare tourists n stuff. a drop bear is this big heavy black bear that hangs on a branch of the gum trees, n when somone walks under it drops onto them, half crushing n clawing them to death.
They got the idea for the story for these big black buildups of dry sap or something that kind of looks like black koala bears from a distance lol
