the best book(s) ever

i just finished IMPROBABLE by adam fawer and i have to say, this is one of the best books i ever read. im not really into literature so spare me the comments like "zomgwtf shakespeare was so much better". meh, i dont give a fuck.

seriously, some books really have a lot of potential. i always thought that a good book has to have the ability to be filmed too. im thinking differently now.

ZIG ZAG by jose somoza was also like that. it thrilled me until the last pages and was definitely worth every cent.

so what about you, which book(s) do you think is/are great or ever the best ever?

im a fan of a few book series.

a first choice is Harry Potter, but mainly because i grew up with this series and have fond memories.

another is the Last Legionary quartet. they are really short, but i read the series quite a few times when i was a kid.

of course, i cant really not mention Wheel of Time, because ive spent so long reading it now... (up to book 11, only one more and im up to date)

i was going to write something to do with shakespeare here, but psychokind beat me to it

I'm a huge Stephen King fan. His epic Dark Tower series is definately worth a read. I loved It.

Some other books of note: I've heard the book "John Dies At The End" is quite good, and am in the process of finding myself a copy.

i read Magician once... but i have to say what ive read of Wheel of Time trumps it terms of fantasy fiction. Then again, i read a lot more wheel of time, and this is only my opinion.

heh im reading magician at the moment actually. mm there was so many books in wheel of time. my mate read em and i heard they get less interesting throughout the series. ive never even started one tho so i wouldnt kno

that is true. although im up to book 11 and its picking up nicely. ive heard 12 is the best one though

Nothing can ever top Jules Verne IMO. With Gulliver's Travels, Journey to the Center of the Earth, and 20,000 leagues under he sea, he's one of my favourite fiction writers of all time. Though Mark twain and the Tom Sawyer stories come a close second.

Jules Verne didn't write Gulliver's Travels though, Jonathan Swift did.
