This is so hilarious.
Sadly, I actually know somebody who LIKES the Twilight series...my mother. She got into it when she and her live-in boyfriend visited his daughter Jenna (my sorta-stepsister) and Jenna dragged her dad and my mum - and Jenna's own boyfriend - to see the second Twilight film with her.
I can't even remember the title of it now, just trying to think about Twilight hurts my head. Was it Full Moon?
Anyhoo, even worse, she'd taken her boyfriend with her to see the film already THE PREVIOUS WEEK. I weep for Jenna's mind, she should be conserving it for starting university in September.
And now my mum likes Twilight too, and is fawning over her copies of the first two books and the first film. O dear Bob, kill me so that I may not see it.... _________________

I just don't get it. It's a total patronization that tween girls eat up. |
They're looking for lots of sappy romance and something wrapped in a vaguely supernatural looking storyline.
I don't know why I hate the sappy romance part of Twilight so much, I usually LOVE to go see new romantic comedies. (Then again, they are romantic COMEDIES, not just out-and-out sap. ) One of the last films I went to see was "He's just not that into you", and I loved that.
But the sappy romance and the fucking sparkly-vampire shit in Twilight leaves me ice-cold.

I can accept what she tried to do, which was humanizing the aspect of vampires and werewolves to the point that despite their physical superiority to humans, they fall prey to the same emotional weaknesses (I was a big Smallville fan, after all), but what I can not accept is the blatant disregard for proper writing technique. For a piece of literature to be so immensely popular but have such poor structure is unfathomable to me. Hell, even Harry Potter was excellently written and could be enjoyed as proper literature, despite it being on a Sixth(ish)-Grade reading level. _________________

New Moon. The second book/movie is New Moon.
And really, the view of Edward being SOOOOO ROMANTIC grosses me out. No, he's not romantic, he's an obsessed, controlling stalker. _________________

I admit I used to enjoy the book. Note on the emphasis. It was different, or so I thought, and didn't quite catch the drift when they skipped all the fight scenes just so Bella could tell you about her hormones, and then later have a little more sex with Ed. Total ripoff. It was a how-to story and all the poor children don't realize it.
That's when you learn that you just didn't read enough actual stories to catch the signs of a potential time-wasting story that you spend precious hours on.
Seriously. Even the pedo-dinosaur Barney is more entertaining than this. |

"Twinkie-light", the movie?
That was awesome though, Psychokind. _________________

And as foods go, they'll outlast all other sources of "Nutrition" (I use that word with tongue firmly in cheek ), as they have a half-life longer even than the proton.
