I watched the movie yesterday... it was so awesome!! all the guys in the cinema screamed when terry crews used his rifle, and when arnie came into the church, everyone was aplauding oh my, the action was brutal and (mostly) realistic, no super hero faggot shit; the dialogues were like you imagine them from actionhero-sages:
Our principles are dry like the color here. when it's dry.
- Mickey Rourke while painting
so guys(!), go watch it! _________________

i found the movie to be pretty bad, actually. i was really, REALLY looking forward to seeing it but it wasnt that good... the story was just meh and the combat scenes were mostly so fast cut that you couldnt really see what happened and who did what... so, all in all, it wasnt really what i was expecting.
the scene with schwarzenegger was hilarious though _________________

you expected a story? this is a film for guys, I mean who wants story? I was worried in the beginning when the Generalissimo started to think, luckily he got killed anyway. luckily EVERYONE got killed, except for the good guys. which was very good, so there was no need for sadness. and I couldn't imagine anyone of them get killed either in films nor in real life
action scenes were fast cut, that's right. but it's a newer action film, and fast cut action is common nowadays. besides, because of that I can watch the movie again to see how everyone got killed, by who and how we had many important discussions after the movie:
"jet lees neckbreaking kick was so awesome!"
- "it was jason stathams kick."
"are you sure? I remember jet lee making the final kick"
or:
"too bad terry only used his razors only to throw it into the throat of one soldier..."
- "didn't he cut up someone completely with it before?"
"no, that was statham when he furiously cut everyone down." _________________

yea, but you see, this is exactly the thing i DONT want. when i watch a movie (ESPECIALLY if its a no-brain-just-action-movie like this one) i want to have an overview. i guess you havent seen IP MAN (which is not pronounced like "internet protocol" but more like a chinese name ). do it. its the biography of bruce lee's trainer. marvelous. THIS is how choreographies have to look like.
oh and btw: that film was from 2008 so not all modern" movies have to have fast cut fighting scenes _________________

@ Chicken: Unless it's a Rocky Film (Part 5 withstanding) you can't go to see a Sly Stallone movie and expect any depth. These are just bodycount films, good guys VS bad guys. And, while I haven't seen the film just yet, I imagine alot of people dying, big overdone explosions, fight scenes with no substance- and I wouldn't have it any other way. _________________ "...at first it's fine and you think you have a dark side – it's exciting – and then you realise the dark side wins every time if you decide to indulge in it. you know, when i saw jet li being in that movie, i was like "hot damn, there HAS to be some good old beating going on". but actually, i was disappointed. and a lot of firepower cant compensate that. besides, im not really that much into shootouts :/ _________________
