facebook creeps

alright, this thread is inspired by something that happened to me recently.

i often get requests to add total strangers, nothing special here. i write them a message if we know each other and if not: BAM! IGNORED!
so i got another request from a strange blond woman, around her 40s or something. so i write her the standard message and back comes something like "hey, i have been to a thermal spring with your mom and we somehow were talking about facebook so i looked you up and found you. best regards"

you know, my parents aren't on facebook and even IF they were, i wouldn't add them, i have seen what could happen on failbook.com :/ and THIS - a strange woman who just knows my mom - creeped me the fuck out. i called my mom to ask her about that and she was like "oh, oh yea, she really added you? yea, we were talking about that and i already told her you'd probably ignore her. oh, isn't that funny?" yea... really funny.
needless to say i ignored her but i wrote her back a few words, telling her that i heard the story but can't accept her because i actually don't know her. oh and i wished her a pleasant day, to make her feel better

so, any creeper stories you guys want to share?

I once got a private message from some guy after posting I was single [at the time] on my friend's fb. I don't add any random person I don't know, so I have no idea what he was expecting. I found it rather odd.

Also, people insulting me on my facebook has led to some odd occurrences, but luckily those people removed themselves in a fit of e-rage before I ever could.

Also, facebook is a pedo playground, I imagine. I try not to think about that, though.

Of course, facebook is also great place for stalkers. Before I had the chance to block her, my ex's jailbait girlfriend decided to harass me via PM and leave some oddly-worded engrish message. She probably wasn't counting on the art of screencapping at the time. =]

I've had to deal with lots of creeps before. My ex-girlfriends for starters.

Then there was this one guy who kept trying to convert me to Islam... that was weird. He didn't even know me. Found me through a group or something.

There was this one real moody bitch about two years ago who claimed she knew one of my friends and she railed into me for not friending her sooner...

I feel like I'm forgetting somebody. I remember about six months back there was this one person pestering me a lot on Facebook about the crap I was going through but it wasn't one of the ones involved. Eh whatever. Facebook is weird.

years before i joined facebook there was a guy i didn't know who kept inviting me on facebook. it went on for about 2 years, then my old friend wanted to join, so i gave in a joined. and i realized that the constant stranger's friend request was done by a bot since one day i got an acceptance of a person i never hit request on. (so confusing)

i had no idea what the heck you were supposed to do on their... so i quit xD
