Stupid 14 year olds jumping on the net and spamming JUST to piss us off I'm sure.We need an admin on here A LOT more frequently to counter these posts. As soon as some little prick registers with a name like "sjjvbf" or some crap like that, perma ban it. There's a good chance it could also be a bot. An internal server program that registers as a user on forums and advertises using very poor English skills.

sad thing, though, this guy wasnt registered but used the guest-post function which works JUST in the suggestions & questions part (which is a very good idea at all to keep useless spam off the other parts of the board) so we can do nothing but ignore...

Well, eFlare should disable guest accounts from posting I guess. That will give incentive for users to join.

i dunno if this is really a good idea... i remember when joan had a problem with her account so he could post it in here and everything got fixed (http://www.terraearth.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=530)

and secondly, guest, who have a question about the site, forum or whatever should have the possibility to ask without having to join... for me, this would look like im locked out of a site if im not a member... kinda unfriendly and i'd leave and never come again (if it isnt something VERY important)

Yeah, I'd like to see guest posting still in effect but restricted to a couple of forums. The best we can do is to keep adding those spammer IPs to the banlist.

I would like to direct you to the colour of my name, plus what else it says about me. You have no idea how many names and shit I've banned from this site that are all porn bots, so please, do not say that the admins don't do anything. I've done plenty to keep this forum spambot free, same with eFlare.

The only reason this part of the forum stays open for guest posting, and not the rest of the forum, is as chicken said: if someone has a problem registering (which, we had quite a few problems with registration mail not getting through due to server errors), this was the place to post with problems. Guest posts that are spam, such as the one everyone's commenting on are usually deleted.

I'm keeping this one around because it's actually sort of amusing to me. Plus, it makes it easier to ban IP's.

That got a little tl;dr, so in short: this subforum stays open to the public for a reason.
