|

I'm a fan of Google Chrome, but I've heard that Firefox is a lot easier to use and has better virus protection. I know IE is like the stepheaded redchild (sic) of the browsers, but it seems to work fine for me.
Any suggestions? _________________ Current Avatar commissioned work by Seiken Arts.

google chrome is pretty good, but keep in mind that it stores all websites you visit (even in private mode) and sends the information to google. and they store it forever.
firefox 3.x is very slow and needs a lot of memory, 4.x is still in beta - very fast and uses less memory. firefox has tons of addons which are very handy (download everything you see ). therefore it crashes very often, especially if you watch a lot of videos. the "plugin container" for the flash player is the greatest shit I've ever seen. and this will never change, since it's this way from firefox' beginning.
IE is okay. if you're not a pro, you don't need much more.
all 3 get tons of viruses, they all suck ass in this term because a lot of people use them. _________________

at least until a gajillion people use that browser like with firefox and IE and come up with ways to mess it up for their enjoyment.
but that aside
Firefox is the fastest and most reliable on my part. AOL and IE are slower, they freeze up a little more often and flash and java doesn't seem to work in some places. it's torture, i tell ya. |

im a great fan of google chrome.
ive had issues with firefox and opera before, but i suppose that is partially due to it being at uni on a mac. and i have a dislike for mac os and that god damn coloured pinwheel from hell.
id say stay away from IE if you can... it sucks.
firefox... has a lot of useful (and otherwise, id imagine) addons
chrome: my personal choice, and it is fast and looks cool.
opera: probably less likely to get viruses as it isnt as popular... but i dont use it much. so cant help you _________________

The only con of using Opera is that most security software developers don't make plugins that are compatible with Opera. But, it's pretty much impossible to get a virus if you proceed a little cautious. _________________ Hey. I'm Fazermint. And I'm Juicy!

I like Firefox because it's straightforward and isn't IE. _________________

I recommend you trying all the browsers mentioned above, and then choose the one you like and works better for you.
But please don't choose IE.. |

Okay, I've come to a decision. I'm going to spend a week using each browser mentioned here in great detail, that is:
Google Chrome
Firefox
Opera.
I'm starting with Google Chrome because it's safe and familiar, then moving to Firefox which I have some experience with, and then Opera which I've never used.
I will make my grand decision on March 5th.
And because I'm me, I'm turning this into a game.
Place your bets on what browser I will eventually pick. If you're right, you get 100 gems! _________________ Current Avatar commissioned work by Seiken Arts.
