Okay, so today at Goodwill I saw a truck with a pitbull inside the vehicle. It was 86 degrees outside and the windows were barely cracked. That pissed me off (I'm an animal lover) so I went inside and asked the clerk who the owner of the truck was. The owner was at the register and it was a black lady. I told her about the dog being out there and she gave me a snotty "well it's none of your business" response. I shot back at her "somebody's gonna call the cops on you one of these days".

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a busybody, but when there is another living creature involved, I get pissed off. I didn't handle it well in any sense of the word. I took a picture of her license plate and we got into a pretty loud verbal argument.

During this entire time, she called me a racist and said I was only doing it because she was black. This woman is scum. I understand racism is alive and well today, but that's no excuse to turn every encounter with a member of a different race into a race war, where no matter what you've done HORRIBLY wrong, it's justified by past injustices which you have never dealt with personally.

I hate victims in general. These people who think they belong to a "protected class" and so the world owes them something. The world owes you nothing. You know who the biggest victims are in today's society? White Christians. The difference is we don't bitch about it.

I'm still a little pissed off as you can tell so forgive me if my argument doesn't appear rational or well-rounded.

Touchy subject... I will say, some people refuse to believe they can do no wrong, and will use any excuse to not have to be held accountable for any of their mistakes/stupidity. It's ridiculous, but that's the way the world (And people) are.

It is kind of dumb to use your race as an excuse to get away with something like that. I'm also really wondering why rascism still exists today since most countries put that crap behind them long ago. Unless people look for that as an excuse to be touchy about something , but that's not a very good reason.

This is exactly why. It's because they feel entitled, and because they have a ~*HORRIBLE TRAGIC PAST*~ and they feel the need to shove it in everyone's face that ~*MY RACE HAS HAD A HORRIBLE TRAGIC PAST*~. Good for you, everyone's "race" has had a ~*HORRIBLE TRAGIC PAST*~, you are no different than ANYONE ELSE. Just because I am white doesn't mean the blood that is in my lineage hasn't had the same sort of shitty treatment as someone else. Yes, a lot of races have had horrible things happen to them, but I swear to god if I hear one more BAWWWWW I AM ENTITLED TO SAY IT'S BECAUSE I'M OF THIS RACE THAT YOU'RE DOING SOMETHING AND YOU SEE ME AS A SLAVE BAWWWWWWW I'm going to punch a baby.

in europe we have a anti-discrimination law for some years now. this is to prevent people not getting jobs because of their age, race, sex, religion etc. basically, if you tell them "you didn't get the job because it's not for blacks" they get 2 monthly loans as a compensation from you.

then a german from the former East Germany someday got his application back with a post-it still on it that said: "do not hire - Ossi", whereby Ossi is some kind of insulting nickname like "white bread" for a white guy. so he wanted his anti-discrimination money but didn't get it; the judge told him former East-Germans are neither a race nor a ethnical group, it's ok to be discriminated that way.

why can't we live in a world where I can just hate every human equally?!

Oh dude, I've been on that train for years now. What I love is that you can have a black pride parade or a gay pride parade. If you had a white pride parade or a straight pride parade you'd be called a bigot.

People need to realize that there is no inherited pride from the color of your skin, your religion, your sexual preference, or any other thing about you. Pride comes from your actions and the content of your character.

I'm proud about many things, my "whiteness" has nothing to do with it.

On a different, but related subject, I feel that the people demanding slavery reparations are the lowest form of scum on the planet. Even if you can prove that your family had at one time been slaves, YOU WEREN'T A SLAVE YOURSELF!

You people are just as bad as the slave owners, because you're making money off of the work and torment of your ancestors. And in some cases it's not even your ancestors. Some of these people demanding slavery reparations are immigrants from the Bahamas or Jamaica.

Anal Pope (my parody band, if you don't know) actually make fun of this as much as we make fun of the WBC. Really we just make fun of idiocy in all its forms, but one underlying message is that reverse racism and the race card are just fancy names for good old fashioned racism. And all it does is spread antipathy between the races. I'm so sick of my stance against illegal immigration and slave reparations immediately considered racist, and frankly it makes me want to go lynch a few of the idiots claiming it just the improve the gene pool.

i like that quote.

although seriously, on this topic, im very much in agreeance with Jason. I didnt read many of the other responses in great detail (tl;dr, i'll get to them at some point). the race card is just stupid.

in my opinion, anyone who calls the race card are either just arrogant Censored or themselves racist. same goes for people who expect special treatment for whatever reason - culture, race, age, anatomy, etc.

I guess you haven't paid much attention around Christmas time. "Happy Holidays", anyone? "One nation under God", anyone?

Long story short, every group faces what they feel are injustices, and everyone complains about it. It's natural to complain when you don't get your way, or when what you know and like is threatened. But that's a whole other issue, so never mind that for now.

On topic, I'm fortunate to live in an area where hearing the race card thing is very uncommon. But yes, I do hate when people resort to using it, as though being a specific race that had a shitty history 200 years ago entitles them to be an insufferable asshole. Racism will always be alive in some way in some place, but that woman you described is fortunate enough to live in a country that (for the most part) has outgrown that kind of behaviour. I'm willing to bet she has a good job, with a good home, and a fair amount of luxuries. If she really had it so rough, and if people harassed her solely because she's black, she'd know it.

People who play the race card where NO RACISM exists or is intended make things worse for everyone else who has to deal with it. The woman should be ashamed of herself, really.

@Freedan: the Christmas thing is just stupid though; the holiday is called "Christmas" not "Holiday" so I don't see the argument in BUT IT HAS CHRIST'S NAME IN IT OMG WE HAVE TO BAN IT YOU HORRIBLE PEOPLE!!! i mean shit people still say "Happy Easter" and what is the holiday about? Rolling Eyes hypocritical thinking at its finest in my opinion.

@psycho: we have that here too. Even if people aren't hired because they aren't qualified for the job or aren't thought to do well enough to keep their job or whatever will cry OMG DISCRIMINATION!!!111 to get their way. It's getting retarded. It's not because you're black/mexican/asian/martian, it's because YOU CAN'T DO THE JOB ugh.

This topic makes me rage, can you tell? Razz

It's more than just that it has "Christ" in the name.

It may very well be a vocal minority, I can't say, but to say that white Christians don't complain about being victims of discrimination just isn't so when every year, there's a very loud group of people who claim that using the non-religious "happy holidays" is an effort to undermine Christianity.

Christmas has become less of a religious holiday, and more of a general cultural holiday over the years. It's celebrated by Christians and non-Christians alike for various reasons, and I'd suggest that the religious meaning is lost on even some Christians.

I still say "Merry Christmas", but I understand why others don't. People celebrate holidays at the end of the year, which has become a tradition for a lot of folks. Christmas may or may not be it. But you hear it every year, how non-Christians are "trying to take the 'Christ' out of Christmas" (as though the commercialism hasn't done so already).

White Christians don't complain? Try suggesting removing "in God we trust" from your money, or "under God" from the pledge. Let's see how much they don't complain.

I would have said this, "Ma'am, I don't give a damn what your race is. You could be a spic, a chink, a wog or a honkey for all I care. What you have now is a problem that pertains to a dog that is suffering from the summer heat outside in your fuckin' truck. Now give the dog some god damn relief from the heat or I will call the cops!"

Naw, what I said was: "How about next time you go to cash you WIC check you leave the dog at home. Maybe then I'll 'mind my own BIDNESS'".

Yeah, I did not handle it well at all.

lmfao. Honestly, my response if I were at work to something like that would be "No, it's because you're an idiot. Race doesn't discriminate in who is an idiot and who is not."

@Freedan: some people truly are because of omg political correctness. At my job I usually wait for someone to say something to me first; I've heard of people complaining to the manager because we said "Merry Christmas" to them instead of "Happy Holidays" to them. It's kind of ridiculous. I honestly don't care if I have to say "Happy Thanksgiving" and then the next month "Merry Christmas" and "Happy New Year". I've heard arguments of "WELL THERE'S MORE THAN JUST CHRISTMAS THIS TIME OF YEAR RAAAAAH" so I'm probably just going to take to saying "Merry Christaunikkwanzaa" to appease everyone (and I mean that seriously, not being sarcastic here.)

That reminds me of the old Virgin Mobile commercial: Happy Christmahanikwanzika To You.

The Commercial

Honestly looking back at the commercial it's kinda fucked up, lol. "I'm a scientologist; That's kind of a religion." ROFLMAO!
