Need help with controller mapping

In order todo the psycho slide, I need to hold L, R, and the attack button down to charge it. Unfortunately, I'm using a rom with a NYKO gamepad that's going off keyboard key functions, and it's apparently not distinguishing the difference between L and R (or D and C on the keyboard). How do I fix this so I can actually use this very necessary move?

The psycho slide is the one you pull off while you're running. L and R aren't used for it. Are you sure that's the one you meant?

Psycho Spin? Spin Dash? One of those. The one in the Great Wall of China.

Course, maybe it's not the controller, maybe I haven't figured out how to actually do the move yet.

Ok, the spin dash. Just in case you're not doing the move right, you need to hold A until you're flashing, then quickly alternate tapping L and R to build up power (while still holding A).... when you reach top spinning speed (the arrows appear around you), hit left or right on the pad to launch yourself in that direction.

If that's not the problem, maybe it has something to do with the emulator you're using (whichever that is). I use ZSNES myself, and have my L and R set to Q and G.... never had any problems.

Ok, here's how to do the psycho slider. First you need to get your character to run. Once your character is running, just press A to perform a psycho slider.
