So, for Halloween this year I decided to treat myself. They released the second and third Nightmare On Elm Street movies on Blu-Ray in a combo pack deal. I picked them up for a fair price (13 bucks), got home, turned it on, and was suddenly really bothered by it. The main menu is a split screen, half showing a circa 80's Freddy on the top, with a house int he background... that isn't even the house from the movies!

I don't even know why this bothered me as much as it did- the picture of him was fine, but that damned house didn't even look like the one from the movie! It was just lazy.

Then, the second picture on the bottom half of the screen was headshots of three cast members from the film; Heather Lagenkamp, from the first, Patricia Arquette, whose become somewhat of a name in the last few years, and Larry Fishbourne, today known as Laurence, who was in this little film you might have heard of called The Matrix. (He had a really small part in the movie and his picture is only on there because he became famous after the fact. Anywho)

So, on the second half of the screen is a picture of Freddy, holding his glove back, ready to strike. Of course, being the fan I am, I'd seen the picture before, but it wasn't from the publicity stills from Nightmare 3, or even taken in the 80's. It's an image from Freddy VS Jason. I'm not even sure why I was bothered by this, it was a cheaply produced Blu Ray with Special Features culled from a 12 year old box set. Maybe I'm just a purist when it comes to these things. Maybe I'd just appreciate some consideration from the guys who makes these things. Maybe I just want too much.

You ever had a nerdy freakout over something as stupid and silly as this?

I can't think of anything specific right now, but I'm sure I did get upset over sth. I know too much about. Something in music, probably...! ^^
