Resurrection Manual

This is a guide to the various things you might find in the world. It is by no means complete, as some things are bound to show up later in the DnD. This will be periodically updated as new things become available.

The Stats

Health
If you don't know what this one is, then you really shouldn't be here. Seriously though, if this reaches zero, your character dies. And gets resurrected in the last town, losing some gold and a few items.

Mana
Mana is the reserve of arcana in each individual. They can call upon this to bend the universe around them in various different ways. In short, use mana to cast spells.

Moxie
This is basically an Attack stat. It represents how aggressive and willful your character is. It influences the damage you deal to enemies, and gives you a greater likelihood of winning arguments.

Fortitude
This is basically a Defense stat. Opposite to Moxie, it represents how resilient your character is. It influences the damage you receive from enemies.

Arcana
This is the magical proficiency of your character. If affects all magical interactions your character has with other things. Predominantly affects spellcasting.

Skill
This is the physical counterpart to Arcana. As such, it affects any physical interactions you may have with others. Your skill directly affects how well you can use weapons.

Dexterity
Basically, Dexterity is speed. It affects your turns in combat, and it affects your movement on the world map.

Combat

When you are engaged in combat, you are fighting another enemy, usually to the death. The damage you deal to the enemy is derived from a calculation involving your Moxie, their Fortitude, and the appropriate stat corresponding to the method of attack (Arcana for magical, Skill for physical).

If you win a battle, you gain experience, and you might find loot. Loot is usually gold or items.

If you lose a battle entirely, you die. If you die, you respawn in the town you most recently visited, with full Health and Mana. However, you lose some of your gold and items. You will not lose equipment.

If your Health reaches 0 while your allies are still fighting in the same battle, you are merely incapacitated and will be on 1 Health at the end of the battle. You can be healed by allies, but it will take more than a simple Restore spell.

When you gain experience, you might level up. An abridged table for experience is below:

Level 2: 16
Level 3: 36
Level 4: 60
Level 5: 88
Level 6: 120
