So, I've started a Vlog now and one of the first topics I'm discussing is something that annoys me. This belief that Mormons are not Christian.

Episode 1: Nicene Creed and Trinity God

That gives you an idea of some of my ideas. I'd love to get your alls feedback, questions and comments. I'll incorporate questions in my Q&A Vlog

Of course they are. Anyone who says otherwise is just being ignorant. Thats like saying Catholics aren't Christian- even if each different religion has separate beliefs system based on the Bible, or have their own, they all fall under the wide umbrella that is Christianity, which in itself is a broad term.

Get with the times! Only people who openly denounce denominations are Christians! Jesus was an anti-conformist, man! We can't be Christians if we're always conforming to a set idea and living with labels!

erm guys... I was serious! Very Happy

I think it's best to call katholics christians, because we really have the most awesome material structures. I don't want a muslim or hindu to look down on christians because they see evangelists "churches". I just recently saw a documentary about domes, they're just an awesome piece of craftmanship!

and the church in my town really is awesome too Very Happy my grammar was just bad in the first post...

You can't deny a person's religious affiliation based on the quality of the structure they worship in. I am a Christian, but I don't ever even attend Church. For me, attending Church is often counter-intuitive to being a Christian.

I agree with Tay. Some might say spending an exuberant amount of money on a structure for religious purposes is almost vain in a way. Just because a building is beautiful and well decorated doesn't equate to the religion being right or wrong- there are plenty of fine churches for various faiths that don't need to show off. A house of faith is, either way, a house of God.

correct me if i'm wrong (and given my ignorance on the subject i may well be), but isn't the core belief of Jesus as the son of God the thing that identifies Christianity as a religion? Hence it being called "Christianity", and all that.

Sure, there are many disagreements in terms of the other details, but isn't that just the core of it? So.. if Christ is central to the faith of the religion, I'd say it's Christianity.

...And Psychokind, I don't think the place of worship has anything to do with it. You can still hold to Christian beliefs and not attend any services.

I wasn't denying that. everyone shall believe as he pleases Very Happy but there are many religions that say they're christian, and the katholics words weighs more because of said material structures. anything else isn't comparable, so that's the only thing you can have an objective view on.

Incorrect, for several reasons.

First, no religion claims to be the correct one because of what building they preach it in. I've heard of Catholics defending their beliefs as correct because Jesus was the son of God, not because they have a couple of big, awesome churches in one part of the world (which they've probably never seen).

Second, any religion is based entirely on faith. There's nothing objective about it at all. Catholics have big churches, which is an objective fact; but it has no bearing on their teachings, which renders it irrelevant.

And finally, Catholics' word weighs more to you for one reason; because you're Catholic. A follower of any other faith will think your word doesn't compare to theirs. But we're not living in Roman times any more; bigger, wealthier and more popular doesn't equate to correct.

LDS temples (not the church buildings, but their own sacred temples) are just as grogeous as a catholic church building. But that has to do with their particular faith, not to show off that they were the richest church for a good half of time after establishment because they found ways to weasel money out of their churchgoers.

I'm not Catholic, but it doesn't mean I'm not a Christian either. If I don't worship anyone or anything but God, Christ (who IS God), and by their extension the Holy Ghost, what does that make me?

Depends. Do you have a nice car?

If so, you're good. If you drive a beat up old lemon, you're not as Christian. Very Happy
