Ugh... I've been out of touch for the past week due to a crippling illness. Called in sick to work three days in a row and I literally have NEVER called in sick to this job (been here a year) and have only called in sick ever one other time in my life (4 years of being in the work force).
Crippling stomach pain, naseua, stress, inability to sleep (got like 4 hours of sleep a night), mild headache, no fever and a hacking cough and sore throat. I have no allergies except a mild cat allergy.
So what do the doctors diagnose me with? Hay Fever... seasonal allergies. And the cough? A URI. Fine. The stomach pain? I pulled a muscle.
Man, what a load of crap. Good thing I have health insurance now. The doctors misdiagnosis will only cost me $25. _________________ Current Avatar commissioned work by Seiken Arts.

That's a pretty shitty way to spend a week.
A little piece of advice, though: I always find that when I have a sore throat, hard candies (lemon flavoured) help ease the pain quite a bit. Lemon is supposed to be good for a sore throat, and regular lemon candy (the stronger the lemon, the better) works pretty well. And unlike throat lozenges, they're not medicated, so you can take them as you need them without making yourself sick. _________________

Well, here's hoping you get better, man.
I rarely get sick myself, so I know how that is. From 7th to 12th grade I was sick ONCE, and I've only been sick TWICE since then (incidentally, both of those latter times were caused by food). _________________

I'm constantly sick, but I'm with you there, Jase: I know I'm really sick when I have to call in. I usually have a couple times where I call in a year, but it's only when I'm vomiting constantly, or have a high fever and can't move. Last year I called in because I had stomach pains so bad I couldn't move, soooo yeah.
At least I know you don't have what I have. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. But I hope you feel better soon Jason. It's no fun being sick like that.
I'm sorta echoing what dark knight said, but I'd also go with peppermint for the nausea. I know they have tea to help you sleep (herbal) since I use that myself when I can't sleep while sick. Makes me burn up like a mofo, but it makes it to where I can actually sleep. Herbal tea with honey in it, or even honey mixed with a little bit of cinnamon helps a LOT for coughing and sore throat and it tastes DELICIOUS (I use that myself when I'm sick, haha). _________________
