I'll be in Memphis on a work trip next week, so it's likely my co-workers and I will all go see it. I've heard mostly good things.

Saw it today. Was pretty damn awesome. Never watched any of the original Star Trek, but still caught a few references from all the Big Bang Theory I've watched.

i can't imagine the rage a real star trek fan would have, but mine is pretty big Evil or Very Mad

The film was well shot. The action scenes were huge. There are several moments that touch upon one of the earlier films, some of them exciting...

...That said, some people will hate it because of changes. There was a major Deus ex machina moment too, which came off as just simply being kinda lame.

I liked parts of it, hated others. I'll watch it again at some point and see if my opinion changes, but at best the film was "okay" in my books.

All Star Trek series are on Netflix. CBS website has original Star Trek series available to view too.

I've heard it's good, far better than the first one. I'm still gonna have trouble not imagining Spock turn into Syler and start ripping peoples' heads open. Damn you Heroes!
