I'm sure most of you heard this by now... but what does everything think? Personally for me, a lot of people have made the same statements (I am anti-Baffleck atm) that Michael Keaton was poor received, and so was Heath Ledger and the list goes on and on...
Well, true, but neither of those two ever played a comic book superhero before they took on their respective roles. Ben Affleck, on the other hand, has... in the disastrous Daredevil movie in the early 2000's. The film was bad, he was worse, and the only saving grace IMHO was Michael Clarke Duncan as the Kingpin... he was terrific in just about everything he did.
I'll give him this, he has written and directed some fine films in his time (Oscar winners like Good Will Hunting and Argo) but his acting gigs have left something to be desired. Reindeer Games? Paycheck? Jersey Girl? GIGLI?!?!
Will he be a good Batman? I don't know. I don't even see a point in replacing Christian Bale, outside of not wanting to pay him a fortune to come back. We'll wait and see, but for the time being I'm standing true to what I said in the previous post I made about this film; I'm waiting to see if it even ever happens. DC has a track record of announcing films that never get made. (Superman V, Batman Triumphant, Superman Lives, Wonder Woman... the list goes on and on) _________________ "...at first it's fine and you think you have a dark side – it's exciting – and then you realise the dark side wins every time if you decide to indulge in it. My friends and I made the same joke.
Ben Affleck is Batman.
Owen Wilson as the Joker
and Matt Damon as Robin!
All we need now is Pauley Shore as Two-Face and we'd have a great parody. The only way we can salvage this would be if "the Dude" plays Commisioner Gordon. That'd be funny as hell.
But all jokes aside, I'm willing to give the guy a chance, but I'm not expecting much. _________________ Current Avatar commissioned work by Seiken Arts.

I don't really see the problem. I mean, I'm going to see the movie anyway, so why go in pre-hating it? It'll just ruin any chances of actually enjoying it if it is good... _________________

Obviously you never had the misfortune of sitting through Daredevil...
@Jason Actually, Kevin Smith would be Penguin, Jason Mewes would be The Joker (Or in this case, the Toker)
Since I find Owen Wilson to be kinda shitty... I would demote him to a shitty villain. Like Egghead. Or not shitty, maybe a Mad Hatter type? Oh, Clayface would be perfect... we'd never have to see his stupid face!
Other than being way too old, I don't see a problem with Damon playing Dick Grayson... but maybe as an older Nightwing? _________________ "...at first it's fine and you think you have a dark side – it's exciting – and then you realise the dark side wins every time if you decide to indulge in it. No, I haven't. Maybe before this movie comes out I'll do that, and then make a more educated judgment. _________________
