As of last week, the store I worked in for nearly two years shut it's doors. A lot of factors have gone into it, much of it having to do with a lack of foresight and poor managerial skills. Another part, I believe, had to do with the aftereffects of superstorm Sandy, which decimated part of our business in that we lost a significant amount of foot traffic.
All these and more lead to the downfall of the store. Its sad to see it go, but love goes on. _________________ "...at first it's fine and you think you have a dark side – it's exciting – and then you realise the dark side wins every time if you decide to indulge in it. Aww. I know P&T hasn't been doing so hot - they closed the one we had a few years ago. Sad to hear though; more places need to have older games besides the newest stuff that's come out. _________________

As sad as it was to see the place in dire straights, part of me is glad it's gone. I worked several days where there was almost zero business. One day in particular, I kid you not about this, we took in a whopping -10 dollars in actual business. To clarify, NEGATIVE TEN DOLLARS IN CASH BUSINESS. Open from 12PM to 8. It was horrible.
The closest retro game shop to us is roughly forty minutes away. I actually plan trips with some buddies of mine to hit a few stores once every few weeks. We got a North trip, which takes us to five stores (Only two are decent) a South Trip that also takes us to five storesIt just sucks to have to travel in the hopes of getting some good stuff.. _________________ "...at first it's fine and you think you have a dark side – it's exciting – and then you realise the dark side wins every time if you decide to indulge in it. Play & Trade as a corporation is marred by irresponsible business decisions. We had one where I live for about two years before it shut down. iirc, they are actually barred from doing business in California. _________________
