Some new awesome news I just read in my Game Informer magazine:

Game Informer wrote:
Final Fantasy X-2 producer Yoshinori Kitase expects that spin-off titles such as X-2 and Dirge of Cerberus are being looked at for other installments in the Final Fantasy series. In particular, Final Fantasy VI is being considered to receive this special treatment.

Guess that means they wanna make some spin-offs for the series. I think that would be awesome!

Though, the other thing I just read in the same column was this:

Game Informer wrote:
With no love lost between Microsoft and Sony already, Bill Gates has officially thrown down the gauntlet. In an interview with Time Magazine, Gates said that Halo 3 is slated to release day and date with the new PlayStation 3. "It's perfect. The day Sony launches [the new PlayStation] and they walk right into Halo 3." Curiously, Bungie has denied Big Boss Man Bill's claim. Of course, with PS3's ambiguous "spring 2006" launch, we'll have to wait and see exactly when this showdown occurs.

Bastard. Mad

i think there are less halo fanatics around now since most thought halo 2 was a flop as far as i've heard, and for some reason i doubt 3 will be much if at all better than that and chances are getting released at the same time as the ps3 will hurt its sales rather than help. And anyway, i've never heard of a good series of shoot em ups, most people go for the original and thats it, but just my oppinion.

So a spin off of Final Fantasy 6? That should be interesting. I'm sick of seeing the newest FF games, even the comercials. Fantasy video gaming was about swords and dragons. Zelda and Dragon Warrior. Now it's about CGI anime pop singers. They've gone from Tolkien-ish ass kicking fantasy to trendy spaceship anime.

Well, every Final Fantasy is different... the first FF game for the NES was close to Dungeons and Dragons, and then it just kinda spiraled from there. The first 5 were more fantasy-ish, then FF6 started with the sort of sci-fi look to it... then FF7-FF8 were about the future-type worlds, and FF9 brought back the old style.

I guess that if they were all the same, people would get bored of them easier. I don't mind the sci-fi ness of the games, it makes it more interesting. ^^;

A FFVI spinoff would be awesome. I never got in to the later games (past VI), so that'd be cool to see.

And launching Halo 3 the same day as the PS3 will do nothing. Sony's fans won't give a shit about it, and even if it does disrupt sales somehow, it won't exactly do it forever.

Halo 3 = just one more FPS in a crowded market.

Laughing

This is so wrong. Laughing

Anyway, I am VERY happy to hear about the FF6 spin-offs. It was the first game I every shed a tear at. I never finished it either. That reminds me, I need to play it again. Last time I tried, I forgot what I was doing. Confused

I love Final Fantasy VI. I hope they don't screw up this spinn off like they did with FFX-2. I hope they have it take place during the War of the Magi. I don't know what they could do after the game, with no magic.

I'm not sure. It might be a spinoff of one of the sidestories (like the one with Rachel or something). Since it's not a direct sequel like FFX-2 was (and it wasn't THAT bad. Once you got past the girly-girly-OMGOMGOMGsquealing, it was good), and more like Dirge of Cerberus (a spin-off with one character), it'll probably based off a side story. Very Happy

My idea that’s I’ve been thinking is that it’s going to be focusing around one of the characters adventures in the year between the fall of the Floating Continent and when Celes wakes up and begins searching for everyone. The characters they would be able to do it with and have it be pretty good would be Locke, Sabin, Edgar, Gau (probably not), Shadow, or Relm(probably not). They will probably do Locke, though I think Sabin is a safe second pick.

I'd think if it was a locke thing it'd be something about turning into a ninja style person, since in most things thieves tend to become ninjas ... and of course he runs into all of his old friendies on the way Very Happy.

Terra, dunno, maybe some harvest moon thing? Confused

Edgar, as Axe mentioned dating sim

Sabin, FULL ON FIGHTING GAME, TEKKENIZING FF6!!!

Gau, some random crap which involves monsters and minigames

Umaru (spelling?), monster rancher Very Happy

Celes, mastering opera's ... or something ...

Setzer, All in one Card games

Mog, pokemon? Confused

Shadow, Tenchu

Cyan, some bullshit

Relm, Microsoft Paint

Strato, Kill all the old people? Confused

Gogo, Weird stuff

Kefka, Roller Coaster Tycoon style cept using freaky circuses

Or as a pre-thingy the story on General Leo or something

Very Happy

Or maybe something like Espermon! Gotta catch 'em all. That's not mine, it's from FFIII: The Comic Series, which kicks ass by the way. The only problem is that the guy hasn't updated in a while, but he got to the floating continent.

Yeah, I heard some rumors about FFVI being suped up. I guess with FF7 (in my opinion the best FF ever) being given this treatment, it won't be long until others in the series start coming together. How cool would it be to have the entire S Generation (7,8,9) be given an FFX treatment (voice actors, and FMV).

I still want them to make a real life Triple Triad, though. Tetra Master from FFIX was just plain stupid.
