Okay so I have two wedding rings. One is silver and the other is gold. Now technically the gold ring is the "One Ring" from LOTR and is actually gold-plated tungsten and the "silver" ring is just a stainless steel band brushed in silver. But still.
My wife and I both prefer Silver. I originally got the silver ring but I lost it for a short time (not my fault, our Cat is a natural Meowth) and so I got the One Ring to replace it. Now I found both and have both.
I digress, which do you prefer?

I'm more a silver person (gold looks pretty gross on me, as does yellow in any sort of manner) but white gold is all right.

my wife wanted silver (I guess you guys mean white gold or palladium?), I wanted yellow gold - so we met in the middle with rose gold. quite happy with it, it's even less noticeable than yellow gold from afar.

I'm not really into jewellery personally (I'm not the kinda guy that looks good wearing jewellery xD), but my sister definitely prefers silver over gold.
She feels gold sparklies look kinda more...tacky. And whenever she's bought jewellery or received it as birthday/Xmas prezzies, silver really does suit her better than gold.
Then there's one of my cousins who is actually ALLERGIC to gold, she can only wear silver or base-metal jewellery. xD
So I'm voting silver or silver-coloured. I feel it looks classier.
