I found the ZSNES easy to configure my controller on. I just couldn't figure out the Turbo Fire part yet.

I also love the fast forward feature. In some games, most the ones I have actually, when I load a game, I have to wait and press start through a couple screens before starting a game. With fastforward, I can skip all that stuff. I can also zip through any long parts. If I'm playing IoG and climbing a long ladder, I can climb and press the fastforward button and he's up there already.

I configured fastforward to one of the extra buttons on my controller, the second right top button. Works great to save some time.

The Logitech's analog buttons are also handy in that they also click down as buttons. So I use the left one to save state, and the right to load state so I can save repeatedly as I progress through a game, and quickly load if I mess up big time or want to see or do something again.

ZSNES crashes when I try to load ANY game, and I have (had?) the newest version. I'll load it up, try to load a rom, then BAM, it crashes and goes back to my desktop. Though SNES9x is a little glitchy (the screen glitches every so often, straining my eyes), it works and it doesn't crash. Very Happy

Nope. My computer may be old (it's a good 5 years old), but if it can run FFXI and the expansion (plus, the video card, memory and harddrive have been upgraded) which in all is an 8GB game, I think my computer can handle some pissy little rom file. And ZSNES worked just fine for the longest time with the same settings (I don't think I ever changed them), so I think it's the emulator.

Specs from the side of my computer (which my dad wrote on the sticker originally on the tower):

1.1GHz AMD Athlon Processor
128MB memory (which was upgraded to 512MB memory)
60.0 GB harddrive (added 120, so now it's 180 GB harddrive)
DVD-ROM drive
CD-RW drive
16MB Nvidia TNT2 M64 PRO graphics card (upgraded to a GeForce 128MB graphic card)
56k Modem (the already installed kind)
10/100Mb PCI NIC

I'll be upgrading it more soon. Very Happy

AMD ... icky
512MB good enough for almost everything if not everything
to get technical its not a 180 GB HDD ... its a 120 GB HDD and a 60 GB HDD, partitioned at all?
not a dvd-r/rw?!
GeForce or any decent graphics card its all good
56k Modem ... *screams* NIGHT TERRORS
10/100Mb PCI NIC ... pretty standard as far as i know.

you appear to be correct ... that strange rock of yours should be able to handle zsneswin.

And my PC would be, since we're on that subject:

Intel Pentium IV at 3.0 GHz
512MB RAM (memory for not knowers)
1x SATA Harddisk 200 GB
1 x IDE Harddisk 120 GB
Retracktable IDE Bay, it's like a slot in the front of my PC where I can put a carryable harddisk. (40 GB)
DVD-ROM drive
(no cd/dvd writer present, have other pc for that)
NVIDIA GeForce MX 440
On-Board 10-1000 Mbit Ethernet (RJ-45) socket (..which would be a network thing)
On-Board sound (whoo...hoo)

Boys....your computers beat down mine. Need to finish off my upgrades if I had new heatsink/fan to complete the installation. Someday, I will switch to Cooler Master liquid cooling system...if I had big green bucks.

Yeah, harddrive is partitioned. But together, since I have all that room, my computer *technically* has 180 GB's.

DVD-RW wasn't around when I got my computer.

I use ADSL anyways. Only get on through dial-up when I'm desperate.

DPit: Mine wasn't custom made.
