Moogles are awesome.

Just out of curiosity, how did they end up both in the Final Fantasy and the Mana series?

Moogles are good for punching bags. That's about it.

Chocobos are at least useful. They cut down on travel time, and you don't have any wandering encounters while you're riding them. That allows you to conserve your health and items, thereby allowing you to reach the dungeon (and therefore, the boss) in one piece, greatly contributing to your victory and the salvation of the entire land.

Screw the protagonists, the chocobos are the real heroes.

Chocobos came around in Final Fantasy 3 (not the US SNES version, the one that just came out for the DS not too long ago) and Moogles came about in... Final Fantasy 5, I believe. Though, I didn't know that fact about the designers being on the same core team. I'll file that away in my bank of useless knowledge. Very Happy

That's so cool. It actually makes sense now.

I guess I just failed to realize that the same team, even company, could have produced SNES-era FF games and Secret of Mana. The series are so different.

Duh, moogle.

A chocobo is a big bird. A moogle is fresh, new and a cute little thing with few connections with the animals in the real world. There.

I usually would, but only for a sense of completion. I never made it a point to use him.

Sounds fair enough.... he is a novelty character and all.

I still haven't beaten FF 3/6. I sorta get lost as they stop giving you hints in the "second world". I wish someone would force me to finish that game.

I haven't beaten it either, if it makes you feel better. Very Happy All of my people are underleveled to try to take Kefka on. After you get everyone back into your party, you do sidequests and then take on Kefka, that's it. That's what makes it so hard, though.
