What's yours?
Personally, my favorite would be the Gamecube.
Yes. The highly underestimated Gamecube.
In my opinion, the games of that generation were probably the most addicting games I've ever played.
Plus, the graphics weren't way too realistic, nor were they too cartoony. They were just... perfect. Enough to suck you into the game that you were playing. Gameplay was just crazy smooth 90% of the time, and it was easy to move around dungeons and the like without the sketchiness of the N64. Nintendo put way more effort into those games at the time than they do now on the Wii (simply comparing Mario Sunshine with Mario Galaxy is proof).
*slash*I'll be finishing this article later cause E3 distraction (FFXIII!!!!! O_O ) (FFXIV!!!!) I'll have to try and remember what I wanted to say...
Hopefully later today.*slash*
there is no bbcode for slashing... =_=
I guess we do have to leave this article unfinished, since I'm at a complete blank now. I can't think of any other reasoning, so...
But we can't beat the SNES or the Sega Genesis... And PS2 follows closly behind Gamecube, with the GBA in third place for various reasons that I can't put together.
But in a nutshell, it all has to do with nostalgia.
[edit also take back what i said about galaxy. back then i didn't really notice the better parts of the game. the controls were distracting, yes, if those were fixed plus some flaws (that galaxy 2 actually hit) i think the two would be almost level with each other]

Anything handheld. the GB GBC GBA DS and PSP are just to awsome.
I cant pick out of those everyone of them is just awsome. From the nostaliia factor of the GB and GBC (pokemon comes to mind) to the the awsome library of the GBA. And the great games on Ds and PSP. Picking a favorite is just not possible.
A real console would be the Wii.. yesh its games mostly suck but there are a few shining games but mostly I use it as a subtitute Gamcube and am in LOVE with the Virtual Console!
But in all honesty I would pick the good old Snes. That console wins everything just with the fact you can play terranigma on it makes it THE BEST CONSOLE EVER. Yes I am such a Terranigma Fanboy. _________________ Gehaktbal, Frikandel, Bamihap

N64 and Playstation(1&2). So many favorite games~~~~~ *--*
I don't really have any favorites on any other system. Gamecube might be a second with Tales of Symphonia and SSBM. SNES was my first gaming platform... though.... Other than that, the Wii only has SSBB. )': |

The SNES. Some of what I consider the best games ever made came from those days.
Currently, the Wii. It has its share of shovelware (successful consoles often do), but there's some fantastic gems to be found, and more to come. I'm glad Nintendo didn't engage in the pissing contest that is the PS3-360 technology war. Give me Super Mario Galaxy over Bioshock.
Yes, 95% of the time, the Wii doesn't go for "gritty and realistic", but if that's what I wanted, I could step outside. I don't play games for realism, I play them for entertainment. The real world is full of realism if I want it. And it's more interactive.
And for handhelds, the DS single-handedly rekindled my love of handheld gaming, which was dormant since the original Gameboy days. I'll be honest; when I first saw the thing, I was hopeful, but very skeptical. "Two screens? A touch screen? How is anyone supposed to keep track of this?" How wrong I was, and how happy I was that I was. _________________

SNES. No contest. Something about the controller and the graphics plus the sound... OMG...
GameCube is definitely awesome. That'd probably be my second favorite.
But then I can't forget about GBA SP and DS Lite. There have been some excellent handheld games lately too. _________________

SNES, Genesis, and my playstation (both 1 and 2; both have good games on it). Of course, I love my Wii, but I like my older games more. They were, y'know, actually DIFFICULT. Not that the Shin Megami Tensei series doesn't give me difficult, but most games are... easy. _________________

And that's why I have high hopes for Super Mario Galaxy 2.
Though I doubt it'll be as difficult as Mario Sunshine. _________________

Some developers make their games difficult (or outright hard), but sometimes, they're in that realm of "they were trying too hard to make it hard, and now it's IMPOSSIBLE to beat this sfasgfasjs game". Luckily, Nintendo has no problem with that. _________________

Haha, Nintendo has some hard games, definitely. Shin Megami Tensei is up there. _________________
