Terranigma is miles ahead of the others in me opinion. Illusion of Gaia is great, it's just Terranigma is HOLYSQUISHYMONKEYS awesome.
Soul Blazer falls behind, but it's still up there with the awesomes.

I've only played thru IoG and started Terranigma. So I'll play thru Terranigma and Soul Blazer before deciding which I like best.
It seems the gameplay action in Terranigma is slow, kind of like Secret of Mana. Is it supposed to be like that? I like the Zelda/IoG type of gameplay better. But I guess this is good too. |

The gameplay is slower, but I prefer it that way. It lets you approach things at your own pace a bit easier. SB kind of threw things at you (in the form of monster lairs that spawn all their enemies at once, forcing you to fight 6-8 things at once).

That's why I get so frustrated with SB. And it's probably why I can't beat that damn boss at the end of the first area.
