Terranigma returns in 2027!

August 24th, 2026 by eFlare

After more than 30 years, the day many of us thought might never come has finally arrived: Terranigma is officially returning!

Clear River Games, working in cooperation with Square Enix, has announced a modern re-release of Quintet’s beloved action RPG. Terranigma is expected to arrive in early 2027 for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC through Steam and GOG. Both digital and physical releases are planned.

The new edition preserves the pixel art, music and action RPG gameplay of the original while adding a selection of upgrades, tweaks and bonus features (the exact additions have yet to be revealed).
Original character designer Kamui Fujiwara is also involved, contributing new key artwork, in-game designs and feedback during production.

This release will bring Terranigma to North America officially for the first time! And of course bring it back to the rest of the world also on modern consoles!

For decades, Terranigma has remained trapped on its original Super Nintendo and Super Famicom cartridges. Its story of creation and destruction, unforgettable soundtrack and beautiful world have kept it alive through communities like ours. Seeing Ark awaken once again on modern systems is something truly special.

And… if you can believe it, you can add Terranigma to your Steam wishlist now! Never through to be typing Steam and Terranigma in one sentence…

We will share more information as Clear River Games reveals the release date, physical editions and new features.

UPDATE: The trailer has been taken offline by Clear River Games, for now, due to a potential dispute on it containing a fan made rearrangement of the music, without their permission.

Happy 20th Terranigma!

October 20th, 2015 by eFlare

For those of us outside of Japan it may only have been out for 19 but, today Terranigma turns 20 years old! One of the three masterpieces of classic RPG/adventure games from the Super Nintendo era to which this entire website is dedicated and derives a significant part of it’s name.

With a gripping story line, characters, music and art to match, Terranigma continues to shine as one of our favorites, when it comes to SNES era games.

For this 20th year anniversary, I know that I’ll be picking up my dusty SNES controller and give it a good play through. Won’t you join?

Staff Life

March 15th, 2012 by boxxleman

How’s everyone doing? If you live anywhere close to me, you’re probably outside enjoying the wonderful spring weather right now (not to make anyone jealous or anything). I know some of you have been probably wondering “where has boxxleman and eFlare been lately?”, so here is my attempt to help clear things up for all of you.

Around June of 2011, eFlare and myself started to develop a huge project called Sokoban Online. It’s an online version of the classic game Sokoban, with tons of new features and game elements. All of our attention (with exception to our social lives outside of the internet world) has been focused on the development of this game. We have been super excited to see the feedback we’ve been getting on the game so far, so if you have the time, you should check it out. If you are a lover of old school puzzle games, then this should be something for you.

We’d also like to let everyone know that TerraEarth has by no means “frozen over”. From here on out, any new content is solely dependent on the members and visitors of TerraEarth. So that means, if you want to see new updates, send us your stuff so we can put it up on the website.

Finally, I’d like to mention that in order for the continued populairty of the world’s best Soul Blazer trilogy website, please like us on Facebook. We’re going to be having a small contest soon and the winner will receive a free TerraEarth t-shirt. More details will be announced soon concerning that. Have a nice weekend!
