Hello, all! A while ago, in opne of these topics (Improved Creativity Thread, I think?) rainichan was mentioning one of her dreams, and it promted me to say we should have a topic to simply mention are insane dreams. I had some exceptionally screwed up dreams a few nights ago, so here they are...
It started out as a moive trailer. I wasn't in the dream. It was jsut that movie trailer. It seemed to be set in London. A man in his twenties, clean-shaven, wearing a black long coat was walking down the sidewalk on a busy winter day. He was passing by an outside cafe. As he walked, his voice could be heard speaking.
"These days, people don't really sppreciate things in life. The day-to-day things pass them all by, and life becomes bland."
Here, the man stops at a table in the open air cafe. A meal is still there, not cleaned yet. A jar of honey is spilt, and runs off the edge of the table. The man dips his finger in the honey, and raises it to his lips as his monologue continues, "Yet, even in this world, some things... remain sweet." The man, having tasted the honey, left in the waste on the table, continues on his way. Seems like a trailer for a very thought-driven movie. When suddenly, the trailer shows the enxt scene for the movie...
"It's-a me! Mario!"
Tiny, pint-sized, animated Mario and Luigi are standing on a real-life dresser in the man's room. He stares at them in shock. It cuts to a scene of the man running down the street urgently, with the animated Mario and Luigi hanging out of his coat pocket, demanding he hurry. It show's them hopping and running through the city, as Mario shouts, "Hurry, Luigi! We gotta' save the city!" in his Italian accent. It cuts to some action packed scenes of that guy in the coat dodgin bullets. Then a scene of him on his knees, looking sad and distraught in the rain. The tiny, animated Mario stares up at him, and says, "These days, people, they-a don't understand what lifes really about. We gots to show them." Then Luigi chimes in, "And we need your help to do it!" The man's frown fades, replaced with a look of determination.
Around then is when that movie trailer section of my dream ends. As it was taking place, my mind decided that it was a trailer for a new Mario Brothers movie. For some reason, I thought it was going to be awesome. My mind works weird when I'm asleep.
Cue next section of my dream. I'm in a hotel room. Several people are there, including my ex-girlfriend. It's a small anime/video game convention, set in the hotel. But, everyone is staying the night at the hotel. Everyone's playing a game which they continually refer to as Twinkle Star Sprites, and I accepted that being the title of the game in my dream. However, once awake, I was quite aware that the game being played in my dream was not Twinkle Star Sprites, but in fact, Popful Mail. At any rate, someone started insisting that I track down my ex, because she was the best person there at "Twinkle Star Sprites." (In reality, she's never heard of TSS or Popful Mail) So, I tracked down the oom she was in. But instead, she and I engaged in philosophical conversation, none of which was actually voiced in my dream. We talked as she lay on the top bunk of a bed nd I lay on the bottom bunk. Then some kid came into the room, trying to trade me some Lone Wolf books (these are kind of like Choose Your Own Adventures). This dream then started shifting between the scenes frequently, then spasmed, died, and moved on to the next dream sequence.
The final dream of the night I remember was a zombie holocaust. That is, there were zombies everywhere. Or so I was told. I was walking down the street in a park-esque area. A friend of mine, Daniel, was there, along with several ambient people. Daniel told me that the zombie holocaust had happened, and zombies were everywhere. I observed that some people seemed to be acting quite odd in the streets. However, the were still speaking complete sentences and such, and I absolutely refused to believe that when zombies REALLY appear, they will be in some nasty, still-sentient, B-movie form. Yet, not wanting to be the idiot that refuses to believe they truly are zombies, I armed myself with a gun anyways. I then approached a suspicious-acting old woman, to confirm that she was, indeed, a zombie.
At this point, the dream glitched, as mine often do, and shifted from first-person to third-person. The charcter that HAD been me was replaced with the coat-wearing man from the first dream. He tried to speak with the old woman, when she ran at him with a knife. He narrowly dodged and took off running. He tripped over a fence. At this point, a "zombie" little boy pointed a gun at him. He pointed his own at the boy. A tensed moment passed. The man was very kind, and so, couldn't bare the thought of shooting another human, much less a little boy. At this point, another gun was pointed at him by the old woman. He swung around to shoot the old woman. HE succeeded in killing her, but the little boy now fired on him, hitting him in the shoulder. He then shot the boy. He then began crying, ashamed at having shot them. Here, Daniel offered his hand to the man to help him to his feet.
"We have to keep going," Daniel said. The man stared at Daniel for a moment, in shock. Daniel continued, "We understand what you're goihng through. Let us help you."
The man smiled, and took Daniel's hand. AT this point, I realized that the man was supposed to have an exceptionally pure heart. The man thanked Daniel. Daniel replied, "It's no trouble. After all, we need you to lead us from this hell. To lead us to heaven."
Daniel smiled at the man. At this point, I realized that the man was in fact an angel. This zombie holocaust was the end of days, and he was there to guide the survivors to heaven. THe man smiled at Daniel. He said, "Do you really think we can make it to heaven, with my broken wings?" Note that the man had no physical wings, though its possible he had them hidden. My dream chose to think he was speaking metaphorically.
At any rate, Daniel replied, "Can you take us to heaven?" with a smirk.
The man replied, "If you'll help me there," with a smirk of his own.
And so, Daniel helped the man to their group, and they continued on their journey. End of dream.
I thought thse dreams were especially weird, so I thought they were worth posting. Kudos to anyone that read it. Please post your own! _________________ Overwhelmed with gestalt possibilities... |

I don't dream often enough for me to post anything, unless it's one of those dreams you have when you're in a really llight sleep, but REM is still occuring. Those are fun, like fever dreams. _________________

There are times when I have dreams, those times when I am deeply disturbed by something, I have a dream that is more or less showing me what disturbs me.
Funny thing is, half of my dreams are of things that have nothing to do with those times and are freaking weird. Things like spending the whole night looking at weird symbols, knowing that I am in a dream and trying to decript what the symbols mean and having a sudden moment of brighness when I see what the symbols mean just to wake up right after I understand what the symbols mean..
Gotta love weird dreams. Live would be more boring without them. |

Lately I've been having dreams about working with John C. McGinley.
Most of the time at Sacred Heart Hospital (the hospital from Scrubs).
This could be because of my severe, well, worship for the man and total Scrubs addiction.
Funny, no? |

Scrubs rocks so much that your brain recognized it greatness and is trying to show it even in your dreams. |

First of all, I now hate you, Jason Tandro (not really, but I think we got it after the 50th copy... ). At any rate, yeah, I don't remember most of my dreams these days, except for when I wake up, then pass back out for half an hour, then wake up again. Those little barely-asleep half-hours from passing out just after waking up always seem to manage to contain a ton of dream, and they always seem to be the weirdest dreams... Like I had one before that was me at a costume ball, trying to find my ex (who I was still w/ at the time). But this other girl was stalking me as I worked my way through the crowd. I ended up getting caught up in some Civil War play about how some general killed some guy whose ghost haunted the field forever afterward. Once the play was over, my ex and that other girl were side-by-side staring at me. Then I woke up. Then there was that on I had where I was running through the city, trying to keep goblins from taking my pillow from me. And I hate the ones where I'm in a car and it keeps going faster and faster and I can't make it stop. Or I'm on a trampoline, and I'm bouncing miles into the air. I can't get off the trampoline because the fall would kill me. But, every time I bounce, I go higher still. Then, eventually, something happens, and I go bouncing thousands of miles away, falling towards trees, then the dream hiccups and starts having something else happen.
I also hate those times when, though you're asleep, your mind is in tune with your physical body. So, you try to move in the dream, but you can't. You don't know why you can't move, but in reality, it's because your body is physically feeling that it's not moving. You start struggling to move more and more, and then you finally do. Which means, you moved your physical body, which in turn jerks you out of your dream. I've only had those 3 or 4 times I can remember. But, I think that when people sleepwalk, it's probably because they have those kind of dreams, but for some reason, don't wake up once they start moving their body? _________________ Overwhelmed with gestalt possibilities... |
