For me it goes:
1. Illusion of Gaia
2. Soul Blazer
3. Terranigma |

Tough call, but I'd have to put Terranigma first.
IoG in a close second, and SB in third.
Not to say that SB isn't good on its own. _________________

TN
IoG
SB
I think TN was the most advanced of the three with its multi-way movement, run feature, additional frames for movement on Ark, and a completely renewed battle system.
SB was perhaps the most primitive version of their game engine, using only the cardinal direction movements, no run feature, and a single-swing-motion attack, albeit the magic you can use.
IoG had a larger audience crowd and fan base of the three I think. At least I heard more about it in game forums than the other two. It too had a more intuitive battle system, involving movement of objects with your flute, and transforming into different beings to fight more. I haven't got to enjoy it as much as the others though. I think I'll try to play it. _________________ "That which invokes my rage and great, furious anger shall turn to a raging nuclear sea of fire!" |

IMO:
1. Illusion of Gaia (the first game I played in the series)
2. Terranigma (the second game I played on ROM)
3. Soul Blazer (the third game i've played, the one I least liked) |

Heathens!
It doesn't matters what position IoG(thought I leave it last) and SB have, but TN must go first!

Illusion of Gaia, then SoulBlazer, then Terranigma.
It might eventually change for me though, as I've never played through Terranigma. |

I agree with gamechampionx. Illusion of Gaia is Super-First. I've only played part of Terranigma, but I'd put it at second. Then Soul Blazer last.
And, just for kicks because I'm currently playing it, Granstream Saga goes between IoG and TN. (I know, technically it's not part of the series, but it's still cool) _________________

You've officially boggled me.
You agreed with me but put the games in a different order. |
