you mean like new members need to pay a certain amount of gems to post somewhere else than SC? if thats the idea, i dont think im gonna like it...
and a larger avatar? ok for those who need it...
the main idea about selling "privileges" seems to be quite good, though, but what may cause the problem is its execution...
