Virginia Tech Massacre
It's already being called the deadliest school shooting in US History with more than 30 dead. It seems all my friends are okay, but still.

^ From what I've heard (just read somewhere, but can't vouch for it), Thompson is already searching for any link to video games.
The man is reprehensible. Whenever any tragedy strikes, all he can think of is how to link it to video games to further his own campaign.
And Chicken: unfortunately, I don't think people always have a reason for doing something crazy. Maybe they had a horrible childhood and that's their way of "getting even", or maybe they just did it for some sick pleasure.

well, you just mentioned two reasons... either a fucked up childhood or a weird sense of pleasure and satisfaction...
i guess some thinks cannot be explained with a common sense of how-to-deal-with-others, like why a guy searche somebody over the internet who kills, chops and eats him then... gross >_>

Actually, that was meant to point out that there could have been a reason or not; the messed up childhood is a reason (though still not one I would accept), and the pleasure was meant to be "no reason".chicken wrote:well, you just mentioned two reasons... either a fucked up childhood or a weird sense of pleasure and satisfaction...
But, yeah.

you US guys aren't the only one having problems with the "everything evil is caused by video games" fraction. Here in germany it seems like a link to video games is being searched for allready before the tragedy itself happens xD.
banning something or someone never is a reason, because it only puts a patch on the wound and doesn't touch it's source.
Some people do things like that some don't though they had a difficult or even inhuman childhood too, but that's just because everyone is different in the first place I guess.

but i think its actually a good question what can really be done that such things wont happen again... besides from nothing
ban and prohibit video games sure is no solution. if i think about the addicts, who know sunlight because they see it in some games with a kickass gfx, theyd go crazy about it... there it goes, the next blood-run, this time in RL though...
its too late to get the video games off the market and out of the heads of the people so there must be anything else where something like a realistic solution to those problems is hiding...

Fuck that! I hope nobody is retarded enough to try and destroy the second amendment. A person's right to defend themselves with firearms shouldn't be taken away just because some fuckhead can't get over his GF dumping him.
So yeah...
- Jack Thompson blames it on video games
- The Phelps family of vile crotchfruits protest the funeral for the shooting
- Retards scream for gun control laws
- 4chan and ED has already made memes for the event.
The aftermath is just as fucked up as the shooting.

You must have misunderstood. They're saying that students should have had the right to carry guns so they could have shot the gunman. I don't believe for a second that we need to ban guns. Then more shit like this will happen!
And another thing I want to bring to everyone's attention:
FUCK THE WBC!!!!!
The Westboro Baptist Church is gonna protest at the victims funerals. What do they believe? Go to: www.godhatesamerica.com. It will make your blood run cold.

hm Prohibitions -.-. THe funny thing is that by banning a certain good or thing in general you give away control over the whole thiings as well as all things connected to it.
For example a drug ban is no solution because the addicts will still find people selling the drugs to them. A Ban turns it even worse because due to the higher risk of smuggling the prices for the drugs explode and so the addicts can no longer afford the drugs themselves and are forced to work for the dealers which tell them to raid shops or fake things aso. So instead of ending up the addiction it just turns the whole mess even worse.
A gun ban scenario is similar. Though here the good is the danger itself and isn't just used on people to create a danger out of them. Due to the ban the prices for weaponry quickly turn to an unaffordable level for most common people. However those that deal with guns win even straighter profit because and because the guns are more expensive the gangs and criminals have to raid or kill even more in order to get the cash ready. So another time instead of being a solution a ban is just part of the problem.
Video games even if there is millions of millions of red pixels used to create something looking like blood are just GAMES. Just like music is just music and films are just films! Games are meant to entertain the players for a short or longer period of time. They can not enhance or govern aggression in any way, it is the player that misinterprets what's shown on the screen. Games however can govern the physical and mental skills of the players and so may take role in the preperations for a real life massacre, but they definitively can NOT turn a unviolent coward into a massacring war-machine. So instead of chosing which games are right, there should be a selection method amongst the players

Honestly, the whole thing is old to me now, and while yes, it was tragic and all that, I don't need to see news coverage of people crying their eyes out. People die every day, and they don't get media coverage. :/
I know that sounds awfully cold, but it's true. He went all batshit insane and shot people. Ok that's all fine and good. Honestly, I feel bad for the family/friends, but this whole thing will go on for another half a year about how horrible it was and blah blah blah. Argh.

America really needs to ban guns. The problem isnt vidoe games, music or any other kind of media, its the simple fact that and idiot can walk into a gun store and by a gun and go shoot his girlfriend with it. "We need it to defend oursleves" my ass, ban guns and the ammount of people you need to defend yourself from will lesson, simple.
