Jerry Falwell isn't so bad, I mean if you look past his twisted beliefs, you'll find a person who has contributed a lot towards what he passionately believes in.

If you think him believing that the blame of 9/11 is on homosexuals, feminists and liberals is bad, I personally blamed the passengers of the plane for cowardice.

It's the 'twisted beliefs' that were the problem. It would be one thing if he contributed to his beliefs only out of the goodness of his heart, and in an attempt only to make life better for those that need it. But I find it hard to respect anyone who does good on one side while simultaneously promoting hatred the other half of the time.

Doing bad has a much stronger impact than doing good. Otherwise, the same thinking could apply to a number of despicable people because of the good they had done before.

That's why I imagine Falwell will be remembered more for the controversy he stirred than any charitable actions he made.

They were armed with boxcutters, and nothing more. One or two dead is better than more than 5000 people dead.

Do you think the people on the planes knew what the Terrorists intention was? Maybe they thought it was just a kidnapping for money/other things.

We can't tell now what the passengers thought during that, but saying "They could've prevented this if they were not so cowardish" sounds very disrespectful to me (and this is coming from someone who doesn't care more about 911 than any other suicie-bomber/terrorist attack/political riots in IsraelIraqLondonSpainAfrica)

Well, when they overtook the pilots, there still could have been something the passengers did.

Though, yes I agree that we don't know what they were doing/thinking at that time, Joan isn't the only one that thinks that the passengers could have done something more. I'm not necessarily one of them, but a lot of Americans think the same thing.

And so do I if it was a terror attack and not just an "internal" affair. Indeed the Plane that was meant to crash into the White House didn't hit it's target like the others, so there definately was something different on this plane, and the difference were the passengers preventing the terrorists from scoring their goal. Sure for the passengers it's a lose-lose situation (they die anyway), but what could a handful of terrors do against a mass of a few hundred people? Nothing!

Eh, personally I think the passengers could have done more. But then a lot of people flow through life thinking "Somebody else will do it certainly so I don't need to". Even if it got me killed in that situation I would try and do something.

You seem to miss the point that terrorists on a plane is NEVER a good thing. Terrorists exploit fear of the innocent victims to gain leverage. They wouldn't be at such a good position if everyone had the cojones to show those cocksuckers that chivalry isn't dead now, would they?

True, thats a point, but maybe they DID try to stop them, and failed. Well, we dont know and never will...

And according to Wikipedia (no, I dont take it as the bible), the plane that was ment to hit the white house was indeed stopped by the passengers...

AND it's new to me that some Americans think that the WT passengers were cowardish or sth.
I alsways thought you'd worship every single of them as Heroes or sth. ...

I just thought I'd post this, on account of I thought it was funny. Cool Guy

Comes from a site called Filibuster Cartoons, which mostly covers Canadian politics and news, but there's some international coverage in there too.
