Paris Hilton goes to jail. Does not pass GO, does not collect $200.

For those who haven't been keeping up on the news, Hilton was caught driving with a suspended license (she lost it earlier after drunk driving, or something similar). She went to court, and was sentenced to 45 days in jail.

Later, her sentence was reduced to 23 days for "good behaviour" (taking in to account bullshit factors, such as 'showing up to court on time'... she was being rewarded for NOT committing more felonies).

After 3 days, she was released from jail by the Sheriff's office, because they (or possibly the private psychiatrist that had visited Hilton in jail) decided she had some kind of medical, mental problem... probably something along the lines of her being too fragile for jail, and that she shouldn't be there. So, she was allowed to serve the full 45 days under house arrest.

But it turns out, she was released without the judge's consent or knowledge (even against his orders... he had specifically ordered jail time, and NOT house arrest or community service). So, she was literally taken back to court in handcuffs, and ordered to serve the full 45 days in jail. No house arrest, no reduced sentence.

I'd like to share these with everyone now, which my brother just sent to me earlier today.

Thank you, justice system. Cool Guy

I kind want to shout like that. I hope jail time will do fine job on her.

I rather see Paris thrown in prison... :/

Obviously someone pissed off the wrong judge... And looked a gift horse in the mouth. Now she's got the whole term to serve.

I certainly can't say I feel sorry for her, but I won't laugh either. (At least, not very loud...)

HA! it was about time Very Happy thought the american justice system gets weepy and picky after all by cutting her sentence-time by half and then releasing her after THREE days because of some "mental problem" ... pf, house arrest... lol!

i guess the judge also was no paris fan cause he knew, the kids of today only understand one language: THE LANGUAGE OF THE IRON FIST! Biting

I do not like the fact that she has to spend time in jail. She is a daddy's girl, bratty, etc., and probably deserved it, but even still. On the bright side, this might make other people follow the example of the judge.

Yes, she did. That's what makes it so good to hear.

She wasn't sent to jail for the DUI (which was dumb enough of her as it is, she could have killed someone), nor was she sent there for driving without a license. She was convicted for violating her probation.

Judges don't like that. They give someone a second chance with their promise that they won't do it again, then they go ahead and do it anyway. Paris was well aware of her probation, she was reminded of it. She stupidly chose to drive anyway (under the mistaken impression that the law doesn't apply to her), so she deserves to be punished.

Too many celebrities have gotten away with too much because of who they are. It's nice to see a judge that's willing to dish out more than a fine and a few hours of community service to someone with a famous name.

If I'm not mistaken, in some states, someone could be sentenced to about 4 months in jail for violating probation. Paris should count herself lucky she only got a month and a half.

She should have had her sentence increased to 90 days.

Has Paris Hilton reformed?

What say you, folks? Is she sincere about wanting to change? Or is it just a way to keep the public on her side?

The goals she mentions sound noble, but then again, it could be like any other number of folks who go to rehab with promises to change, then go out drinking that same night (damn Lohan girl).

I honestly couldn't say, you'd have to give her a week and see what actions she'll take
