My first cellphone

So, I got my first cell phone. I got it today, but it isn't exactly new. It was my stepdad's at first, until one time my Mom cleaned it and did stuff to it, and then it became mine. I got it for my birthday.

Oh, and if you didn't know, April 26 is my birthday. Four days ago. I also got for my birthday two Harry Potter books, because Harry Potter is awesome.

So, speaking of cellphones, when did you get your first one?

I got mine about a year ago, but it was my mom's old one. Then this year my sister got a new cell phone so i got her old one. Maybe next year ill get a one that hasn't been used before

yep...~ 10 years ago, a big cellphonehype started in Austria and Germany.
I got my first "Sagem" prepaid-card cellphone 6 years ago (yes, I got it quite late).
From then on, I got used cellphones off my brother & father, Nokias mostly, but I actually didn't need one.

But 6 months ago, I got myself a contract cellphone, Sony Ericson, with an awesome rate.

i got mine fairly late, only about 3 years ago. was a lg b2100. it was decent enough, til the battery just died on me. so now i have a newer phone that works perfectly ^^ and newer i mean still a year or 2 old

I've got to add, I got my new cellphone with contract because NOW it's necessary for me to have one
All the other cellphones were just for the sake of having one, sort of.

Believe or Not, I got my first cellphone, BlackBerry 8703e last February. I use it to text messages or make phone calls via relay on wireless. Quite useful tool.

Let's see... I got my first cell phone in 2003 when I got my first car, so almost five years ago then? My first phone was a trac-phone, which I had for a year before I got a real phone. And every phone since has only lasted me a year, so I've been through five phones. Which isn't much. My sister, who's sixteen now, and got her first phone at the same time I did, gets a new phone about every three to four months.

My current phone is a MOTO ROKR, which by the way, is awesome, despite the fact that I'm stuck with Alltel.

My first cell phone was quite awhile ago hmmmm three years, i got my brand new for my birthday a pay as you go by tellus. Its been dead for about 6 months now though lol no better than a paper weight. I'm thinking of getting a new phone soon but haven't really needed one hahah I guess I want one cus its cool hahahah

First cell phone was probably 7 years ago or so. I still have it.

I don't use it much, so there's never been much need for me to get a new one.

I can see where you're coming from. Just because it looks old doesn't mean it works crappy or anything. If I had an old cell phone, and it still worked perfectly, I would see no point in buying a new one.

why not buying a new one? it's a status symbol i made my first handycontract 5 years ago, and every 2 years i get a new one.

That's exactly why. I don't buy status symbols.

I don't have an iPod, I don't get my coffee at Starbucks, my cell phone does nothing else but send and receive calls, and I don't buy my clothes from Old Navy, or any of those other trend-in-a-can stores.

I won't do any of that, because my money has more important places to go.
