I kinda agree on that, but I gotta say it all depends on what is important to you in your life.
You can spend you're money on alot of things that might look ridicullus (?) in the eyes of someone else, still, it's worth to you.

But common statussymbols are a don't care/don't need for me too.


By the way, my phone was actually free, I only pay ~7-8 € per month for se phone bill.

yo that's right, everybody has his own ways to waste money. i have to pay 10€ for the phone bill, an additional 10€ per month for the phone and payed 160€ for the phone when signing the contract. over 2 years... 560 €. that's not much, other people (women) have 100€ bills monthly.

my phone isnt that brilliant (one of the lower ones at the time) i dont spend much on calls (heh i dont even call, i only sms), dont believe in ipods coz they just suck, imo.

my phone does the usual, as well as play mp3s, have a camera and video recorder (although a shitty one). only have that 'cause i dont want to drag a camera/mp3 player when i go out with friends, and some random shit usually happens. always fun

This might sound strange but I'm a 4th year computer science student and I've never owned a cell phone or a camera in my entire life.

I do have 2 computers and a ps3 though plus a bunch of other tech stuff. I just don't like phones much.

and i always thought computer students are able to hack themselves into the cia with just their laptops and an old cellphone while sitting in the park wearing sunglasses and a baseball cap

No, for now, I'm attempting to get some money together to possibly make a down payment on a house. The neighbours on both sides of us may be moving in the not-too-distant future, and if my family can get the money together to buy 'em both, we'd have 3 properties all together with our names on 'em.

Also, I'm helping the family with property taxes, credit card bills, and stuff.

I still get some money every now and then for the occasional game, but I usually have big-boy things to pay for these days.

Not rich, just working. If my folks buy up one place, my brother and I pitch in on the other, we could probably handle it.

It helps that our own house was paid off last year.

And here I am just trying to save up for an apartment. The hardest part is, not only do I have college loans I'm going to have to pay off, but gas prices are eating ginormous holes in my wallet. Lame.

I demand alternate fuels!

petrol prices in australia are about $1.50 per litre.

that being said, i use buses more because i spend most of my tine during the day at home or uni, and driving to uni is just foolish, its in the middle of the city. and student bus fares are cheap ^^
