          Happy Hallmark Day.

I honestly don't see what the big deal is. My folks make a deal out of it.

"It's a day to celebrate love, to show someone you care about how you feel about them."

And I say: Why do you need one day to do that? Is there something wrong with showing your partner you love them all the time?

Go on, blow $300 on one day of "I love you"s just because people say you're supposed to, but I'd rather let my lady friend know more than once a year. _________________

I never really saw people's logic behind saying that.

If everyday is a good day to celebrate love? Why not celebrate St. Valentine's day? It's a day like any other on the calendar.

I have never met a couple who didn't need a *little* reminder to show affection for one another. And besides, a holiday is where you celebrate events together...

I am for it. I support the concept of holidays 100% and St. Valentine's is no exception.

Oh yeah, something else: Why is St. Valentine's day called "Valentine's Day" But St. Patrick's day isn't called "Patrick's day"? _________________

Highlighted in bold is exactly what I was getting at. It's just another day, so why raise a big deal about it? _________________

Probably the reason I made a big deal about it is because it is all over the internet. This same sentiment. It makes me feel sorry for St. Valentine, people wishing he was never recognized. _________________

Maybe he should have chosen something else to name after himself. Like a day to celebrate Timbits.

That's a little overboard, and not quite what I'm saying. There's nothing wrong with recognizing the Saint, I'm just blown away that everyone (at least around here) seems to think that this is the only day you can show your love for someone. _________________

Don't worry, that's something I'll lay off for. I was single all my life until only recently (20 years or so), and even now, we're not really together. ("Unofficial", I guess you could say.) That's why I avoid actually calling her my gf.

But whatever, you're probably better off for now anyway. _________________

Just think Axey, no girlfriend means no whiny girl saying "But I WANT that, it would look SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO cute on us!"

And no girlfriend means you can spend your money on better things, instead of someone else. _________________
