because i wanted to avoid massive thread necromancy, i thought id start a thread. now my last forum really died to basically 3 of us in general and then the remaining machinimists. there are alot of things that probably contributed but i can never really tell which it was. that and this forum seems really dead too. do forums die because of a lack of hype, or is it something much deeper? |

I think the forum died because most of the regulars just became too busy with everyday life. We swore it would never happen, but we couldn't avoid it; we got lives.
These days, very few veterans make it here, and even when we do, there's not much posting. Some old dudes make it around for a week or so, then disappear again.
Which is really too bad, because this is the only forum I've been a part of long enough to be a veteran. _________________

hmm yah i guess. doomtrucker, a guy from my old forum, said that myndflame really died because after idefo the hype (go there if you want to hear the bloody details, im lazy) fell. but what you pose seems more logical as i know alot of people i talked to were talking about big things... especially pinnard and oxhorn, who were moving on to seperate places. but that's just two forums, not enough proof really. |

Well, the biggest thing is having something interesting going on. Like when the cookie chase started, alot of people were posting, but after a week, it died off. And anytime some jerk tries to start drama, people tend to be more active (ironicly). _________________

haha, oh man, that reminds me when clint would go on a rant about the anti-myndflame people in live chat. there was an entire organization out there dedicating to making myndflame look bad, saying it was a conspiracy. now if that aint drama, i dun know what is |

People lose interest I suppose. I come on here every now and then when I'm bored, but if I have better things to do I rarely visit. _________________

I got busy with planning a trip, so I haven't really been around like I should have been. Which is a damn shame, since I love this place muchly.
I think Freedan said it best: most of us got lives and they interfere a lot. _________________

By the way, my armyservice starts on Monday, september the 1st...means I'll be even less around, since I'll get buttsecksed for 6 weeks then... |

Nah, in total, its 6 months, but basic training " = the big pain in the ass" takes 6 weeks.
btw @chicken: For basic training, I'm going to Zeltweg baracks, Steiermark! (= quite far from home)
Then I'll get back to a barack which is "only" 45 km away -.- |

i tend to check this place every day, mainly because i manage to find a decent amount of spare time between seeing friends and studying. (i dont have a gf, so that definitely explains it lol)
even though theres a new post once every week or so, all it means is that fellow TE-ers actually have lives. awesome. _________________
