Should we include voice acting?

Well, I decided to go with what I know for the first of my episodic re-tellings of the three classic games and start with Illusion of Gaia. The episodes will be released as often as I get around to them, but no less than one a week. This first episode is a tad rough, but I will try to improve.

That's a great first episode; the extra narrative really helps the story flow more like a film than a game, and the cuts while Will is moving around town help to keep the pace up (rather than wasting the odd minute or two running across town and back, which can get tedious when playing).

On an off-topic note, I just commissioned that pic I'd wanted to do, of all three games' heroes and their lasses in a big climactic Power Walk; I hope it'll look as cool as I'm imagining it. Smile

Here is a question. Should I get some voice-actors? If we all pitched in (say by me sending you alls this weeks episodes scripts) then I casted actors and then using their quotes thusly in the movie this could cross the final barrier between game and film.

I can do a variety of voices myself, but I refuse to do female voices unless I have no alternative. Anybody keen on this idea?

I would be all for it from the audience's point of view Smile

, but my voice does not record well.

Listening to recordings I've made of me, I sound very deep and occasionally slurred or lisping. I don't hear this when I'm talking, just when I'm listening to a playback of me talking.

I agree that voices would be good, in my opinion since there's alot of reading (and some might get lazy).

You are going to really have to watch out for the quality of voices though. It will be hard to sound like 10 - 15 year olds when half (or all) of us are 15+. Girls playing girls (or little boys) and guys should play men. Watch out for them Microphones, too! Let's let the world know this is seriousssss. > Very Happy

I hope you can find the right voice actors on here... @___@;;;

Are you doing auditions for roles? Or just anyone who wants to be the character can?

It all sounds good. I'd be willing to help out with voices and such, but due to lack of technology and money I'm not really capable of helping. My voice probably isn't the best anyways.

all i have is a dodgy mic, but id help. and i agree with hydra, itll be difficult to get the voices sounding right. especially coz i dont think will and the gang would sound the same age as us. plus i dont think we have that many active girls on here

Well I think Hydra 7 could be Lilly and Rainichan could be Kara.. as for male voices I have people here who can do that. As I said, I can do multiple voices myself and I can probably get some people to help me. I just have a severe shortage of female friends with an interest in the game.

You would actually be a good Will. You have the voice that I always imagined Will having. You have a microphone? You could send me the sound files of all of Will's dialogue from Episode 1 on Youtube.

Dude! Sweet! I'd use Audacity and email me each individual line in .WAV format (it's cheap and easy).

lol, actually that doesn't sound too bad. At least I'm not Kara. BUT don't add me to that list just yet! ...Maybe Rainichan would be better... you never know~

Random note: Eric will probably needed to be played by a girl, too. Since he's all little and stuff. :I
