Okay, this is aimed at men and women. Would you rather date somebody:

Who is responsible and a good provider (they pay their bills and never want for anything), but isn't much to look at and doesn't always treat you right (not like an abusive jerk, but somebody who isn't spectacular).

OR

Who looks great, satisfies you, and treats you great 100% of the time, but is a total loser who can't pay his bills, and always asks you to cover for him.


Yours truly is a male, and I'd prefer the nice person, not out of solely asthetic desire, but out of the fact that I'm an old fashioned guy who thinks that the guy should pretty much take care of the girl. As long as it doesn't give you a false sense of superiority and turn you into a domineering asshole.

I'd rather be with a woman who is objective and responsible than one who is always sweet and carefree.

It's not that I'm against the whole stigma of guys taking care of girls, I do admire a sense of chivalry, but for me I'd want a girl who puts the same amount of effort into a relationship as I do. And I'm speaking financially here, of course. Being able to depend on your spouse at all times is worth sacrificing having a sweet, generous, stay-at-home time.

I think it's hard here to answer this question because you can't simply group that all together like that.

For instance- you could want a really hot chick as arm candy, who you wouldn't care if she treated you like crap. Afterall, arm candy. Moreso, you'd know she wouldn't pay for anything.

Unfortunately, it's not about what we want but really what we end up settling for.

For me, it'd be someone I could relate to as a person. I was attracted this this girl I thought was really beautiful, but I've since decided she doesn't have the skills to be in a lasting relationship with anyone, myself included.

So... sorry, I don't have an answer to this one. :p

This isn't meant to represent every option. People don't fall neatly into these two categories. This is merely a preference test. As in: if these two were YOUR ONLY options, then which would you choose?

ok, given only these 2 options, id choose the girl who would make me happy. id rather have a great girl and less cash instead of more cash and a bitch half the time

phew, tough one... i honestly cant say. but i guess i'd tend more towards the one who could take care of herself (pay her own bills, etc.). you know, you can still talk about things like "not-treating-right" and stuff. but with a conversation you dont pay bills =/

Not to be a pain in the ass, but personally, I wouldn't settle for either. I like having the freedom of choice. I like being able to have my cake, eat some, and throw the rest out.

I'd probably settle for the girl who can take care of herself. Mainly, because I'd be in the category of someone who'd have to be taken care of. ::Crosses fingers over potential promotion::
