On the topic of DSi, Nintendo revealed today that they will be releasing a secondary model with a larger screen, larger stylus, and slightly rounder, bulkier design for those with poor eyesight or wrist-related issues such as carpal tunnel and arthritis.

It will come in White, Brown, and Wine Red. So obviously, this is targeted toward old people.

It has been confirmed for a November release in Japan, a Spring release in Europe, and no confirmed release in North America as of yet. It will be roughly $10-20 more than the standard DSi.

I think this is a smart move on Nintendo's part. That DSi is really skinny. Playing Action games on it really hurts. _________________

This new DSi will be known as "DSi LL" (in Japan) and it sports a pair of the whooping 4.2 inches screens but rest of them is not changed. Pen-shaped stylus included. In Europe, it will be "DSi XL". Perhaps that name applies to America too.

I am happy with my golden triforce DS Lite, a part of Zelda PH bundle. I thinking about get DSi to take an advantage of SD slot to play the classic games like Super Metroid.

As for DS games, I suggest Picross DS (Nonograms) and Tetris DS. _________________

The larger-screen DSi seems meant mainly for those that don't already have a DS (which isn't many people, considering how many have sold already... well over 100 million). Releasing it about a year after the DSi seems to have pissed off some early adopters of the first one. _________________

Possibly, but something like that is a long way off for Nintendo. They're not ready for that yet. _________________

The controls on that game were a bitch. But I loved the new levels and challenges. _________________

They were the bitchiest bitches in all of bitchdom. I can't even begin to imagine how many cheap deaths came about because I couldn't quite position myself properly on some narrow little ledge, or overshot a platform because I couldn't put just the right amount of force in to a jump.

And yes, I played the N64 version religiously, and no, I didn't have the same problems, so no, it's not just a matter of me sucking at it.

The game was just meant to have analog controls. _________________

If I were to add my two cents, a couple obscure games to throw up would be:

Avalon Code: A Zelda-esque action game that is incredibly fun to play. Throughout the game you can change everything (including the baddies) by changing their "code" by adding different elements to their page in the book the main character carries around (it is plot relevant as well). Fun game if you're looking for something new and exciting.

UMKIII: It's Mortal Kombat. On DS. With online play. Yeah, sells itself really.

Front Mission: Remake of the SNES Classic, with a new storyline on top of the original.

I may have a few more once I got through my collection again. |

Hotel Dusk: Room 215: A great point n' click/interactive novel hybrid with a very Noir-like atmosphere. Great if you like mysteries. The sequel is already released in Japan, by the way.

Professor Layton series: Best puzzle game. Ever. 'Nuff said. Quirky plot and characters, hard puzzles, great music and beautiful artwork. This reminds me of a puzzle... |
