|

I know I'm probably gonna get a lot of rolled eyes, facepalms, and "o rly?"s over this, but I have a problem with Ouija and Tarot. I do believe they are dark arts. Not that they have any intrinsic power, but that attempting to divine without authority (through any means) invites demonic presences.
Granted this comes from a religious persepective.
My family members have had bad experiences with ouija and I avoid them like the plague. My little sister has this Tarot set which comes with an instruction manual which not only says Tarot is just fine, but also is filled with the most feministic bs I've ever heard, such as
"Men are always uncomfortable around smarter women who use more than their intuition to find things out..."
But yeah, I don't like them. Thoughts? _________________ Current Avatar commissioned work by Seiken Arts.

Horse shit. Though not entirely surprising, if it's supposed to be feminist-empowering.
No, I don't think they're dark arts, or satanic, or anything else people might want to call them. They're toys for teenagers (mostly girls) who think they're vampires (ouija for the girls, tarot for the boys... though again, it's mostly girls that go for this stuff).
A round of ouija goes something like this:
Girl 1: "Am I going to marry that totally hot guy in math class?"
.........
"Y...... E......"
Girl 2: "Holy shit! It spelled "yes!"
Because one person totally isn't moving it themselves, and the others are along for the ride. _________________

I don't know if I would go so far as to say that it would be dark arts, but it is definitely anti-christian. That much is probably clear. _________________

i wouldnt call them dark arts. its just the result of someone's overactive (and very unimaginative) imagination. although, if i see one work with my own eyes, i'll believe it.
but as Freedan said, it does seem like something teenage girls would play around with. _________________
