THIS.
I used to be big into CCGs. I've played Magic, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Naruto, and Initial D. Never got into WoW or DBZ, but many of my friends did at one time. _________________

The point is just as a hobby, like anything else. What's the point of joining an RP thread, or playing Battleship.... or playing anything, for that matter?
The rules do get confusing, yes; especially with some of the recent changes in the last couple of years. But to answer your specific example, turning them on their side is to indicate that you're activating them. |
fuck blue, fuck counters... my friend played a counter and a tap-yours-tap-enemys deck. so annoying and unbelievabaly strong.
what combo did you play? I played an sacrifice-own-creature-for-effect one, although my "draw a card"-artifact is too expensive. but the card I need costs 50 € or so... _________________

you want REAL nerdom? Warhammer, or 40k, or War Machine. When you gotta build the stuff yourself, you officially enter the realm of super nerd. |

My favourite was my blue/black, the last deck I used regularly. I didn't overdo it on the countering (though there was some there); the blue was mostly for card drawing (both players). The black was there to make them discard. I had a couple of ways to make them take heavy damage when discarding.
If they survived, I had some creatures that made them lose life for each card in their graveyard (usually a lot, with all the discarding... and unlike 'damage', 'losing life' can't be prevented). Throw in a bit of blue to make it unblockable, and there's a handy backup method of winning. _________________

i have a black/green saproling deck. basically summon a shitload of saprolings, and use other cards to ping off the enemy. that and turn their lands into forests with gaea's liege.
i made a white/blue deck with tapping/countering, but the saproling deck absolutely rolled it.
my friend has this deck which i think is absolutely awesome: it is based on dovescape. (thats a link, and so is this) _________________

Quote: | Whenever a player casts a noncreature spell, counter that spell. That player puts X 1/1 white and blue Bird creature tokens with flying onto the battlefield, where X is the spell's converted mana cost |
the new cards are as mighty as whole decks in the older editions... I remember the "indestructible" artifact lands from someone I know _________________

old cards are so much more powerful. new ones are either crap, or have massive mana costs. dovescape is a rare, and costs 6 mana to play. as opposed to one of the older cards, high tide, which costs only a couple of mana and effectively doubles the amount of blue mana you have for the turn. _________________

I play magic allot .
I have a blue/black mill deck and white/red burn deck as my mains.
I also have elf/merfolk/goblin/zombie/token/artifact decks for fun.
My old white main I accidentally editted to death. With cards like en-kor, entangler, worship, Indestructable, samonite blessing and some other cards my creatures would never die. fun part about that with worship you cant die as long as you have creatures .
At some point I even played against someone with an Infinite squirrel Deck. That guy could poop out infinite squirrels in turn 3/4.
and on the new cards thing. Creatures are getting a boost, but then again there havnt been any good sorceries/instants or enchantments that break the older OP ones. Dovescape is fun but 6 mana for a non creature counter which unless played right will at most generate 3-4 1/1s? I'd rather have counterspell. _________________ Gehaktbal, Frikandel, Bamihap

that could be true. most of the new OP cards I've seen were creatures, and mostly they weren't more powerful than old ones, just much much cheaper.
@dark gaia: I once had a just for fun elves deck, but my friend had a very powerful sliver deck. I still think it's only really effective with the 1023948120398 € worth double-lands
@lenc: "Indestructability" is one of those cards I mean. I mean, wtf is this shit? other than that I'd love to play against you, since I'm playing a destroy-creature deck _________________
