Jason and Raini, I demand that the two of you play Soul Blazer IMMEDIATELY. It truly is among the finest of 2D Action games to grace consoles.
You guys have my number. Text me if you get stuck. I did write the Boss FAQs on the V3 site after all. |
I AM NOT DENYING THIS, IT WAS GOOD EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THAT I FAIL AT IT.
Incidentally, I never beat IoG either. I had a save on a rom of it at Angkor Wat, and it got deleted. I think it was a fluke I got that far, I can't beat the Vampires now. |
But the Vampires are so easy... |
...hahahahahahahahahaha.

Are you referring to Soul Blazer's vampires in the stage before Poseidon boss stage? _________________

Soul Blazer has Vampires?
No, we're talking about Illusion of Gaia, Boss 3. Incidentally, I will record myself fighting them, slowly, without taking damage if it will motivate you to FINISH THE DAMN GAME, KWEENIE. _________________

The Vampires are tough depending upon who you play as. As Will, they're nigh on impossible. As Freedan they're easy if you can avoid their dual attacks.
I still think the easiest boss in the game is the Viper. _________________ Current Avatar commissioned work by Seiken Arts.

No herbs = pain in the ass. I have issues when they bust out the dual attacks, and they usually dual attack me ALL THE TIME. _________________

Keep a distance, use Dark Friar. Best thing to do is fight them twice and lose intentionally the first bout. Spend the first fight learning the auditory clues for each of their attacks, that way you always know when to dodge. The dual attacks are the easiest to dodge so long as you stay out of the corners.
Also, I don't think I've used an herb in Illusion of Gaia in years... Only boss that gives me trouble is Mummy Queen with Shadow. _________________

I usually get knocked about a bit by the Vampires, but rarely have to redo the battle. The trick to avoiding their dual attack is that, when they suddenly line up to start it (they both zoom across the arena to be at the same height from top to bottom, about one quarter of the way in from each side), is to not move to a corner, but directly side of one of them, by the outer wall.
The dual attack moves diagonally, so being directly to the side means you won't get hit.
Trying to stay away from them both and using the Dark Friar to snipe at them can work sometimes, too. Not always though. _________________

Having finally reached that stage in the desperate attempt to get Episode 11 of the Illusion of Gaia Series on Youtube, I must agree with Raini. I have a fully leveled Freedan and I'm still getting my ass handed to me!!!
Doesn't help I'm using a keyboard instead of a controller and have no herbs. _________________ Current Avatar commissioned work by Seiken Arts.
