For years, Kid Icarus was buried in the darkness while its 'sister' game Metroid took off with successful games. Now Kid Icarus got its chance with new game for Nintendo 3DS!
Check out the trailer:
http://ds.ign.com/dor/objects/14323409/sora-project/videos/e310_kidicarus_trl_061510.html
The trailer had me though it meant for Wii but I found out it is for 3DS since the handheld console run on nVidia chip. That will be likely turn up the table against rival Sony PSP.
Gameplay appeared to be mixed with MegaMan Legends and Sin & Punishment gameplay.
Since I'm fan of Metroid/Castlevania games, I perhaps keep a tab on that game.
Thank haven for my decision on waiting for new generation of DS. I still have my Zelda DS Lite. _________________

This gonna be EPIC
I started a thread long time ago about Kid Icarus NES, i told ya all this -mostly underrated- game was awesome. And now THIS!!!
/me is happy
And omg.. Donkey Kong Country Returns
Star Fox Remake or whatever
The New Zelda
And Kirby Epic Yarn.. i am a bit dissapointed, while Kirby is my favorite Nintendo series, this looks a lot different to what i was expecting.. but whatever, this IS Kirby, a new platforming Kirby for a non-hanheld console, after a long time...

I've never played Kid Icarus but after years of hearing good things I was surprised by how much LordKat absolutely trashed it in his latest Until We Win, which by the way is a great series if you enjoy old school 8 and 16 bit games, mostly platformers.
Though with Kid Icarus he didn't give his usually thorough guide and tips. The man has beaten Silver Surfer and Battletoads without using cheats, so as a gamer definitely worthy of respect even if you disagree with his opinion about Kid Icarus.

The only thing I know about Kid Icarus is what I pick up in SSB. _________________ Current Avatar commissioned work by Seiken Arts.

Nah, check again, most of the commentators in this thread are in favor of it. I've never played a Kid Icarus game so I couldn't say myself.
But even people who play/review a lot of games can be wrong in their judgments of games for a lot of reasons. Like feeling an over-saturation of a certain type of game or something simply not being for them. Like I don't usually like strategy games but that doesn't mean Civ or XCOM are pieces of crap, they're just not for me. Likewise Kid Icarus isn't for everybody, obviously not for Lordkat who was obligated to play through the whole thing anyway. XD Probably had been getting tons of requests for it for months. |

I'm so stoked for this game.
I think I can sum up Nintendo's E3 press conference thus:
"Remember all those games you loved as a kid? Yeah, they're ALL coming back." |

Regarding Kid Icarus, it's one of those games that was only relevant during its era. It feels very dated now, and isn't all that fun to play. Had I played it 20 years ago, I would probably have liked it, but alas, my first experience with it was last year. _________________

@Tay I also played Kid Icarus for the first time last year... i never played it in its era..
@darkgaia Well, i don't like Ghost 'n Ghouls at all
So as Ratty said, this doesn't mean the game is bad. Same with Kid Icarus. |

I first heard of Kid Icarus from zeldacomic a bunch of years ago, and from then on I started hearing a lot about it. So then it turned into one of those fan-although-with-limited-knowledge things.
Looking forward to these new releases. This can give the younger generations a chance to play the classic stuff they missed out on |
