Has anybody found a scan of the map that came with the games? Alas I lost my map for IOG long ago and haven't been able to find an online version. |

I have the map, but I used it as reference a lot when I was younger, so it's not in very good shape now; the paper is starting to come apart at some of the creases....
I am a little surprised though that nobody has scanned it in before, or made it available already somewhere like ReplacementDocs..... _________________

I definitely appreciate it, but I wonder if there are copyright issues since these are already on another website...
Any admin know the answer to that? _________________ Current Avatar commissioned work by Seiken Arts.

We could probably shoot off an email to the people who host them and ask if we may use them with credit and a link to their website. It never hurts to do so. _________________

How do you people make these maps? Like technique wise? Especially for the world map. _________________ Current Avatar commissioned work by Seiken Arts.

Using vSNES.
First, you create a savestate of the game in zSNES, with the game paused at the moment that you're in the map you want (such as at the world map screen). Then you load the savestate into vSNES and use it's "scene viewer" function. Fiddling about with it, you can see different parts of the scene, such as the sprites, the background (sometimes all in one, sometimes in separate pieces/layers), and the Mode 7 background.
In fact, the world map for IoG loads in the vSNES scene viewer as a single piece, 1024x1024.
By contrast, Terranigma loads a section of the map of size 1024x1024, but the *whole map* is 4096x4096. ^_^; _________________
