Oh, definitely. I'm... looking to get a Jace card at some point, and I'm hoping it's from the Eldrazi set. Jace is a bamf. _________________

which jace? theres 2 cards named jace, as well as at least 2 cards with his name attached.
Jace Beleren is from M11
Jace, the Mind Sculptor is from Worldwake, and retails at around $80 each.
then theres, common and uncommon from M11
Jace's Erasure
Jace's Ingenuity
i have one Jace Beleren, from M11. He was also in M10 and Lorwyn. _________________

Beleren. Either Worldwake or M11. Either way, he's BADASS and I would like to have one of his cards. I was lurking around websites last night (this place) and found some cards I'd like to have. Well. Planeswalkers, I should say.
HERE. LET ME SHOW YOU.
Jace (though Mindsculpter version would be just as badass), Nissa (WANT SO BAD, I have an elf deck ;; ), and Sorin. Mainly for the art, but Nissa works well for me too so it's a win/win situation with her. _________________

sorin is really hard to find. my friend has one.
i have 1 jace and 2 nissa. nissa is part of the reason my elf deck kicks as much ass as it does. _________________

He's in Worldwake, right? I hope he is. If I can't get Jace or Nissa, I want me a Sorin.
...speaking of which, 12 Worldwake boosters and no Jace. Oh well. Next time.
Aaaand I want to make a deck that builds up some AWESOME and unleashes a stupid amount of damage and just obliterates people. If I can pull this off, I want to name my deck (my green/black deck is ZOMBIE ELVES, btw). I want to name my OBLITERATION deck after a part of one of my favourite fandoms. I want to name my deck METHOD_REPLEKIA/. 1:00 or so, ACTIVATE THE CANNON OF MAGICAL AWESOME, let it build to the 100 IPDs and build up harmonics percentage... AND THEN LET GO OF THE MAGIC A MINUTE AND A HALF LATER.
Nerd, me? Nooooo, what gave you that idea? _________________

Nissa and Sorin are from Zendikar.
and, there is a card called obliterate. it destroys pretty much everything on the field. and i mean, pretty much everything. not even lands are safe.
as for just making shit explode, red is very nice for that. _________________

Sweet. Tomorrow or Saturday, I'll hit up my card store and get Worldwakes and Zendikars. I WILL GET MY CARDS. I mean, I got Liliana but I have a feeling she's one of the easier Planeswalkers to get.
Ohohohoho well I do want a red/blue deck... and if I can find Global Ruin (which was countered in last night's EDH game ) that's even better. _________________

Opposing colours often make a good combination. They tend to specialize in opposite areas, which covers for each others' weaknesses.
Some of my best decks were opposing. I had a killer black/white; the black mostly destroyed their stuff (at the cost of my life in some cases), or drained their life (life 'draining' is better than 'damage', since losing life can't be prevented), while the white replenished my life and set up a huge defense that was hard to get around.
I also had a very effective blue/black (which aren't opposing colours, but yeah). Blue was for countering spells, but mostly for card drawing (for myself and opponents), while the black was for forcing them to discard cards. With the right cards in play, I could play spells for very cheap (by reducing their mana cost), and they could take 8 damage for every card they discarded (which required 4 of the same card - Megrim - but worked well if I could get them all).
Make them draw cards, make them discard cards, they take lots of damage.... usually coupled with effects that drained life for each card in their graveyard.
That was one of my more successful ones, and one of my favourites.
Sadly, I've pretty much gotten out of Magic. I used to play a fair bit, but haven't played in a long time, and haven't bought new cards in even longer. I found I was saving a fair bit of money on them, and find I don't really miss the game now that I'm out of it. But I still have my cards. _________________

ooh boy... multiplayer death combo here. 2x megrim and 2 burning inquiries by turn 3 = everyone is dead. kinda unlikely but possible.
turn 1: swamp, dark ritual into megrim.
turn 2: mountain, dark ritual into megrim, burning inquiry. everyone has lost 12 life.
turn 3: burning inquiry. everyone (but you) lost 24 life. gg.
seriously unlikely, but very funny.
for raini, theres a new card from m11 which is a better megrim. Liliana's cares. it is almost the same thing (life loss instead of damage) for 1B instead of 2B. life loss is a disadvantage because you cant kill off their planeswalkers with it. _________________

@ raini - yeah it is super fun! haha i sucked real bad when i started and i still do a bit >< but yeah it is a fun game n anythin can happen. one of the best ways to play ur friends/learn is magic workstation, dunno if ep has mentioned it to u but u can download every card in liek 3 seconds and make decks, test them, and play people online. it rules! |

I saw Liliana's Caress tonight, actually. Someone had it in their deck. I was watching a friend play (I didn't make the time for FNM, sadness D: ) and I read the card description. Funny thing though, he was running a discard deck, and my friend was running a mill deck (WITH TWO JACE CARDS did want so bad D8 ). Mill deck won twice. Both times friend got down to 6 life and the other guy had a full 20. He got him with Mind Funeral cards, plus Jace's ability and Jace's Erasure, and a couple of other cards...
It didn't do well against anyone else he played (he was 0-3 when I got there), but it DID do well against a Time Sieve deck! _________________

TOPIC REVIVAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL
...so last night I pulled a Mind Sculptor. I'm not even kidding. Got my three packs of Worldwake and in one was a Mind Sculptor Jace. He is mine now.
I have two Nissas, a Sorin, a Liliana, and last week I pulled a Gideon.
I'm amazing. _________________

thats quite a collection.
recent m11 purchases have lead me to get 4x Honor of the Pure, and an extra 2x Day of Judgment.
still, congrats on the mind sculptor, thats the most expensive tournament-legal card at the moment. well, tournament that anyone plays (standard/extended) _________________

Thanks. I almost went HOLY SHIT I GOT MIND SCULPTOR JACE at a Magic draft. I'm sorta glad I didn't, I didn't need to get jumped out in the parking lot. XD Had I not had a witness to my getting Jace out of the pack, I don't think anyone would believe me. I have a Jace/Nissa deck now. It's pretty bitchin' considering I wiped the floor with someone who usually beats me down in 4 turns.
Honor of the Pure is amazing. I need to get more again. I traded mine for one of the Nissas I have, but I've got an m11 booster box in the mail to share with my Magic nerd who split the cost with me.
...and I think I'll be splurging on that Weatherlight booster box I saw at the card shop myself...
I'm way too addicted. _________________

weatherlight is old. really old. and most probably really shit.
i have 4x honor of the pure now, so i need to build me a white deck. or, modify one of my already existing ones.
i cant see jace and nissa going well together in a deck... well they can work together, but it wouldnt be as deadly as, say, blue and white - walls, ob-ring and blue make for ridiculous control.
if youre buying a box of anything, id suggest something like zendikar. lots of really nice cards there. and more nissas and sorins. _________________
